somehow ive never heard of you which is pretty interesting due to the fact you're pro at this game.

Some people who play are not from the original D2 generation
New kids are introduced to this game via older brothers, older cousins, uncles or even their father's at this point (because it is 15 years old)

Point being:
When you're a first timer, it's hard to keep up with people who have a 15 year jump start on you at a game
Guide reference points are nice to have
