I did this last year and thought that it was pretty fun and an interesting idea because I haven't seen it before. Basically instead of a best case scenario/what each team should for their first round pick (and the Bills and Seahawks in the second) I'll be saying what not to do at each pick.

But first, let's take a look at some of the ones I said last year (full list can be found below).

Quote (Randolph @ May 5 2014 08:23pm)
3. Jacksonville (4-12) – Do not draft a quarterback here. The Jaguars have Chad Henne, he’s not the answer I understand that but he allows them to draft one of the top 3 (Clowney, Mack or Watkins), all of which will fit into Jacksonville very well. Then they can either trade back into the first or wait until their second to get the QB but for now, avoid the QB.

Well I mean yeah Brotles started to prove me wrong here haha. Hindsight is great because it allows me to say they should have taken one of those top talents and then traded back into the end of the first for Teddy but as for what I said and how it has worked out, I was wrong. :D

7. Tampa Bay (4-12) – Don’t draft a quarterback. I know new coaches and/or front office usually results in a new QB but not at this pick. In all likelihood Mike Evans should be available and that’s who the Buccs need to draft here. If he is not then Tampa is kind of fucked lol. QB is the option then I guess but they can sit on a QB until the second and get a better talented prospect here.

Woooooooo I guessed gooder than the rest hur. B)

Quote (Randolph @ May 5 2014 08:23pm)
12. New York Giants (7-9) – Do not draft a safety or wide receiver. I’ve seen some reports that the Giants are considering a safety because of Will Hill’s suspension but it’s not worth it here in the first. WR doesn’t make a lot of sense to me here either because they have much more pressing needs and this draft is deep with WRs. Xnoz, don’t be surprised when you see the LT pick here. If Lewan or Matthews is available,

 Well I mean just fuck me right?

OK that's all there is to really note from last year's so here is this year's.

Round 1

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-14) – Do not draft anyone besides Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
I'll be the first to admit I'm not a huge Jameis Winston fan but I have no problem admitting that he is the most NFL ready QB in this draft. The Buccs need to stabilize the QB position before they can even begin to consider contending. With the strength of that division starting to fade and be up for grabs for anyone, this is the perfect opportunity to strike. If Jameis busts however, it's Josh Freeman all over again and another 6 years of mediocrity (or however many years ago that was lol)

2. Tennessee Titans (2-14) – Do not draft a quarterback.
Just don't do it. They need other things, they will have their pick of the top talent in this draft (because no QB is even in the top 10 overall in this draft) so take a top level talent, let Mettenberger run the show for a full year and see what you have. Or trade this pick for Rivers and be fine there. That works too.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-13) – Do not draft offense.
I think the Jaguars surprised us all with the selection of Blake Bortles last year. It would not surprise me to see them pull the trigger on a WR for Bortles this year. With a healthy crop of very talented Wrs at the top of this draft the temptation will be there. Get your young QB a huge receiving threat option to help him out etc etc I get it but do not do it. There is so much, SO MUCH talent on defense in this draft that is vastly superior to any WR that if they don't select Williams, Fowler or Beasley (or trade back) then this will be a very poor selection. Not to mention there will be a shit ton of Wrs available in the second and third rounds as well.

4. Oakland Raiders (3-13) – Do not raft J.J. Nelson, WR, UAB
Who? He had the fastest official 40 at the combine of all the Wrs. B) lol. For cereal though there isn't a lot the Raiders can do to fuck this up. If Leonard Williams is available they almost have to take him. If they chose to go WR that's a solid move too. Even if they go Amari Cooper who I'm not a fan of, it'd still be a solid pick. Any of the defensive pieces, Wrs, shit if they went with one of the Rbs, while it'd be a reach and criticized, it'd still be a solid pick overall. Whatever they decide to do aside from a massive reach will be a good move.

5. Washington Redskins (4-12) – Do not draft a pass rusher.
This is one of the incredibly rare times where I will say a team needs to draft for need rather than BPA. Everyone is freaking out over the Skins pass rush situation because Orakpo left. I don't know if anyone remembers but Orakpo has been injured since like forever. Ryan Kerrigan and Trent Murphy are a young and talented pass rushing duo. Later in the draft, sure address the depth. First round, no get talent to help your QB who is struggling to stay healthy. Draft OL help and move on. The perfect example is the Rams last year. They already had a dominate defensive line. What do they do? Draft Aaron Donald. Now while it gave them an even more dominate DL, it didn't help the team get better. They still went 6-10 (going 7-9 and 7-8-1 the 2 years prior) and didn't imrpove their team as a whole. Was it a wasted first round pick? Hell no Donald made the pro-bowl but they could have made a better selection to improve their team (Zack Martin, Brandin Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin, etc). One last thing, yes I know hindsight is great but even at the time the pick was looked at the same way, great player, very dominate unit now, not an improvement to the team.

6. New York Jets (4-12) – For the love of god do not do something the New York Jets would do.
Just don't.

7. Chicago Bears (5-11) – Do not draft offense.
That is exactly what I said last year. Don't draft offense here. The temptation to replace Bmarsh with a new young WR, especially with the talent that will likely be available here, will be high but don't do it. Continue to build that defense back up and get a mid round receiver.

8. Atlanta Falcons (6-10) – Do not draft offense.
Copy and paste the Chicago Bears replacing names/positions accordingly lol.

9. New York Giants (6-10) – For the love of god do not select anything that is not offensive line!
Seriously just fucking fix that offensive line already. They have some pieces but they need help still. Eli might be a little more useful if he was actually able to drop back before having pressure in his face. Those running backs might be able to do something if there were actually lanes for them to run through. Fix the OLine, address defense in the second round and for the love of god do not draft a wide receiver. I saw Walt has them taking Amari Cooper. Are you fucking kidding me? Let's just pretend Cruz isn't even close to the same player he was before the injury, they still of OBJ who is a true #1 receiver. You do not need to pair a true #1 receiver with another true #1 receiver lol. Pair him with a good compliment receiver that you can get on day 3.

10. St. Louis Rams (6-10) – Do not draft defense.
I kind of addressed this a bit too in depth at the Redskins pick but their defense is fine. It was relatively young and could use some depth at a few positions but there is seriously not one position on the defensive side of the ball that the Rams need to address in the first round. There will be plenty of OL, WR, RB and maybe even QB (if Mariota falls) talent available here so get to work on that offense now and see what kind of noise they can in tat division, especially with the Niners looking questionable to say the least.

11. Minnesota Vikings (7-9) – Do not draft anyone besides DeVante Parker.
I don't care if Parker has already been drafted, the Vikings need to make this selection and just hope no one notices. For real though, the Vikings are so desperate for WR help they traded for Mike Wallace, the biggest bum in the NFL. Teddy showed some very promising signs last year, get him his favorite weapon from college and continue to build. I'll leave a final note saying that I don't really expect this to happen because of the Wallace trade. Still could but doubtful, just what I'd like to see them do is all.

12. Cleveland Browns (7-9) – Do not let Johnny Manziel sneak off and do lines off a hookers ass in the bathroom.
At this point with the Browns I don't even know anymore. Just draft the BPA and move on. If they want to move up for Mariota then great, do it but jesus I'm not even a Browns fan and watching them drains me. I mean the money they just gave Rob Housler, small as it may be, was just absurd. I watched him suck cock in a football uniform for too many years and now he is signed for more than the min with guaranteed money? My god.

13. New Orleans Saints (7-9) – Do not draft offense.
Draft literally ANY defensive position, fucking ANYTHING on defense and they will have a successful first round.

14. Miami Dolphins (8-8) – Do not draft Landon Collins, SS, Alabama
I see Collins linked to the Dolphins a lot lately, he even was selected to them in our JSP mock but that is a horrible move for the Dolphins. The late great Terps said it best (inb4threadisclosed) the type of safety that Collins is is a dime a dozen. It's very true. I'm starting to think that Damarious Randall, FS, Arizona State is the best overall safety in this class. Anyway, there should be one of the big 3 Wrs available still, if not there will be a corner, OL, DL or LB piece sitting here that the Phins can select. Even a RB wouldn't be a horrible idea buuuuut better options will be available.

15. San Francisco 49ers (8-8) – Do not draft an ILB.
The temptation will be there no doubt about it but they still have NaVarro Bowman who is no slouch. There is no ILB worthy of this selection so they can trade back and get one later in the round or just select the BPA. For the first time in awhile the Niners actually have quite a few needs so there should be a player that has value and fills a need available here. Don't sleep on the idea of them snatching the first RB off the board here either.

16. Houston Texans (9-7) – Do not make JJ Watt angry.
I really don't have one here. As long as they don't do something incredibly stupid they'll be fine. A RT will likely provide the best bang for your buck here that fills a need but a WR could be a solid option as well. RB seems to be the popular pick and I'm guilty of making that selection for them a few times myself, but I just don't see it happening anymore. If they go with a playmaker I'd assume they'll go WR instead, especially with the talent at RB this draft is providing.

17. San Diego Chargers (9-7) – Do not trade up for Marcus Mariota
This is just a silly idea to me. Yes they will likely lose Rivers next year and if they want to go get their replacement now and they believe in Mariota then you know what? Fine, fuck it I'm not a Chargers fan so I don't give a fuck. But if they want to be a successful franchise, they should not do that. They literally could use an upgrade at 4 of their 5 positions on the offensive line and there will be a shit ton of talented offensive line players at this pick. One of the top 2 Rbs if not both of them should be available here, nose tackle, whatever they want. I'd bet there will be a few teams wanted to trade up here too so the options should be there for them if they stay put. Plus, if they do lose Rivers next year, the draft is going to be filled with a lot of QB talent next year. Sure would be nice to have a somewhat decent OL for your new QB to come into. Or an established run game. Or defense.......

18. Kansas City Chiefs (9-7) – Do not draft any position other than wide receiver.
Seriously, I don't care about Maclin being signed if they draft anything other than a receiver they blew the first round. Barring some huge talent falling and/or all of the first round draft-able Wrs being taken already, this pick has to be a WR and one of White, Cooper, Parker, Strong, Perriman, Smith, Dorsett or DGB will in all likelihood be available. If all of those players are taken already then there is going to be a HUGE talent available here so then and only then will it be OK for the Chiefs to not take a WR here.

19. Cleveland Browns from Buffalo (9-7) – Do not announce that the team will now be called the Burnt Siennas.
Like I said in the first pick for the Browns, I honestly don't know how their fans do it. It's just tiring watching them make fuck up after fuck up every year. I mean shit, look at BOTH of their first round selections last year....

20. Philadelphia Eagles (10-6) – Do not draft Nelson Agholor.
I've seen a few reports floating around that the Eagles will draft Agholor with this pick. Well, Chip is going to Chip no matter what anyone says so hey if it works out then go for it. I'd advise against it. In the second hell yeah that's a great pick but in the first, no that's a reach. There will be better receiver prospects available here and just overall better prospects on the board. But as I said, Chip's gonna Chip.

21. Cincinnati Bengals (10-5-1) – Do not draft a wide receiver.
I had some trouble finding one for the Bengals. I remember seeing a lot of rumors saying the Bengals might consider a WR in the first to pair with AJ. Well no. Same thing as with the Giants, there's no need to pair up 2x #1 receivers and waste this pick. Sure if Cooper, Parker or White fall here then you know what go ahead and give Dalton all of the weapons you possibly can and see if he can lead you to post season success. But in all likelihood a better talent at a position of need will be available.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5) – Do not let Ben within 200 feet of any college campus.
Really though, just do the typical Steelers draft and they'll be fine. They always just allow talent to fall into their laps. This year it will likely be Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska.

23. Detroit Lions (11-5) – Do not draft offensive line.
Unless Scherff, Collins or Flowers are available here, don't waste the pick. I know the Lions have some needs on their OL but there is a lot of talent in this draft at the OL positions and they can get a solid talent later on. Use this pick to get a franchise RB (Gordon or Gurley) or some help for the defense.

24. Arizona Cardinals (11-5) – Do not draft an ILB.
I've come to realize none of the ILBs in this draft are worthy of a first round selection. Especially with how much other talent there is in this draft, especially at the back end of the first round, wasting the pick on an ILB is pointless especially when we can use Buccannon as a LB in some packages we don't need to use a high pick on an ILB. If Weatherspoon can stay healthy then we'll be fine. Get a pass rusher or corner here.

25. Carolina Panthers (7-8-1) – Do not draft a wide receiver.
Same thing as the Bengals. Don't waste this pick on putting another #1 receiver with the #1 receiver they already have. There will likely be a nice OL piece available or defensive piece which will help the team far more than a receiver.

26. Baltimore Ravens (10-6) – Do not draft T.J. Yeldon.
I miss my boo bear Terps.

27. Dallas Cowboys (12-4) – Do not draft a third round prospect
I'll give credit where it's due, the Cowboys have hit the nail on the head with their selections the past few years but they have also reached quite a bit for some guys. Last year's selection of Martin wasn't a reach but the year before the had 3 third round talents taken in the first 3 rounds lol. Just don't let JJ make any decisions and you'll be fine. The fact that he had even considered Manziel is all the proof you need to have him declared legally insane.

28. Denver Broncos (12-4) – Do not draft a pass rusher.
I understand they're switching to a 3-4 but they have Miller (who was supposed to be in a 3-4 all along) and Ware (who hasn't been good since he moved out of a 3-4). This draft is so incredibly deep with pass rushers that the Broncos can get depth later at that position and address an area of need now. Corner (with Talib's legal trouble), ILB and OL should all be in play with the focus on ILB. They needed someone to man the middle in the 4-3 and now moving to the 3-4 they're really going to need someone else to throw into the mix.

29. Indianapolis Colts (11-5) – Do not draft anything other than ILB.
Seriously who the fuck is going to even play the position for them? The end of the first round is where the top ILBs start to come into play value wise so if all 3 are there, take your pick Colts, unless Melvin Gordon is available.

30. Green Bay Packers (12-4) – Do not draft a wide receiver.
That should be obvious right? :) I didn't have a good on here, draft anything on defense, this entire draft, do not draft anything but defense.

31. New Orleans Saints from Seattle (12-4) – Do not draft Devin Funchess, WR/TE, Michigan.
In the second round this will be a decent selection. But here the risk far outweighs the possible reward. Funchess is a tweener like Graham but Graham was very raw coming out of college. Funchess has shown what he can do and it doesn't look like he'll ever be a Graham type TE. I'll be surprised if he's able to stay at TE in the NFL.

32. New England Patriots (12-4) – Do not run up on stage and steal the mic.
I couldn't think of a good cheating reference/joke.

Round 2

50. Buffalo Bills (9-7) – Do not draft a QB.
The temptation to draft a QB here will be strong, especially if only Winston and Mariota are off the board. But wait. Sexy Rexy will do his thang and draft a better prospect and then select a QB in the net round or on day 3.

63. Seattle Seahawks (12-4) – Do not for the love of all that is holy, draft anything that is not an offensive line player.
Seriously, they need to do some work on that OL right quick or else they may ruin Wilson. You can't have him scrambling around on every goddamn play, just look at how that worked out for the Skins and RGIII. Get the kid some fucking protection so he can throw to Graham since you just gave away your best protector to get Graham.

CB first round pls. Kendricks would be tempting but idk. GB enjoys striking out in early rounds for defense.

pls no Ahmad Carroll :(

We do not need a RT. We re-signed Derek Newton 5 yr $26.5m. OL is fine, maybe we'll draft a Center if BO'B isn't confidence in Ben Jones.

Probably will go with a WR or OLB in the first. Doubt we'll go after a QB this year. Could use a RB, would hate it if we used our 1st rounder on one though. Secondary is fine.
