i do agree that being better is more important but why bother putting that much work when you can just play meta champs and climb faster

i think thats what people are upset about right? not that nothing else works, just everything right now meta champs makes everything else so much easier


You won't climb faster playing meta champs than you will actively trying to improve at the fundamentals of the game.

You'll still get caught just as much, waste just as much time, farm just as poorly, etc

It's a coincidence because it was already good to begin with. Already a competitively viable strategy.

And if you think a challenger Jinx can't climb against kill lanes in bronze you clearly underestimate the value of skill in League of Legends.

Also not playing meta doesn't mean "literally play anything anywhere"
It means you don't have to play Kai'Sa and Ezreal every game.

Also gold funneling has already been a major strategy since the start of League of Legends. Why do you think it's ADC+Support bot lane in the first place?

Yep playing meta is a self-defeating advantage, the higher above your real skill level you try to climb the less it will help you. You will still have that one moment or sitation where skill is absolutely required to overcome and then it won't be enough and you'll lose the entire game, etc
