Simply by winning, biden is losing. Had biden lost, trump would be well on his way to lame-duck status and out of politics. But by biden winning, you are getting 12 years of trump instead of 8. Trump will now run the gop from 2016-2029 and heavily influence state gop governments for that entire period.

trump is 1-2 cheeseburgers too many away from a coronary. he will not be around that long.

Bad logic. Had Biden defeated Trump just a little bit more convincingly, and had downballot Republicans done just a tiny bit worse, then Trump would not have been able to get rid of the 'loser' stench, which would have killed his brand and his grip on the GOP.

Biden winning is not the problem - Trump coming within 0.63% of reelection (after polling averages had him losing by 8-9%) while Republicans overperformed expectations in the House, Senate and state legislatures is the problem. That's what allowed Trump to hang on and created this weird conundrum where Democrats are in charge, but barely able to govern, while Trump sits on the sideline and acts as the antipresident.

Btw: if 2024 is indeed a Biden/Trump rematch, then Trump and the GOP will lose in a 2008-style semi-landslide.

there is no way either of them run in 2024. it would be a disservice to them both.

Curious what PaRD thinks on this.... I'm sure some people won't be honest, but nevertheless...

So far I think Biden and his team have performed as I expected when I voted for him. He's surrounded by mostly competent people, and he's done a fine job himself. Of course there's several issues where I disagree with his decisions(socially liberal stuff, too much spending, etc), and there's been some mixed messaging on stuff(school reopenings, etc), but I'm satisfied with his presidency at this point. Focusing on COVID relief and then infrastructure was smart. I think leaving Afghanistan is the right decision. He's also refreshingly normal on the world stage, and every other stage as well.

Thoughts, PaRD?

He's a great diplomat and a better public speaker.

I obviously disagree with most of the policy..

Yea.

I'm hoping Trump respectfully backs out after he sees Noem/DeSantis/Christie carrying on the torch.

If not Biden, who else would the Dems field in 2024? Kamala is the obvious choice, but she has proven time and time again to be inept and highly unlikeable.
I mean... the woke white liberals in the media would gush 24/7 about all her intersectionality points, but running with her would be asking for disaster.

When it comes to Biden - I expect decline to set in toward the end of his current term. POTUS is an absolutely grueling job, and he's already barely able to hold it together as of today. Even Trump suffered from visible decline, and he came from a much higher baseline in terms of energy/sharpness.

tbh i was impressed with mayor pete during his campaign.

kamala is a show piece - essentially fan service, i know its only been a few months will have to see what she does.

the problem with dems is that they dont realize when they have a good hand lol.

75 million people still voted for Trump when most of the country didn't like him

Democrats did everything in their power beyond the norms to disrupt this and here’s Thor knowing this and openly spewing bs.

Somehow, even knowing Biden would be a typical spineless Democrat, he still managed to classify anarchists and pro-choice marchers as domestic terrorist threats, somehow made Guantanamo Bay worse than Trump according to human rights organizations, and I would be remiss if I left out the part where the Supreme Court sided with Nestle over aiding and benefitting from literal slavery. Like I knew he and the Democrats would co-opt and defang BLM and #metoo while doing fuckall about children in cages, yet he still surprises me with his shittiness lmao.
