Tariffs mean tax increase of American consumers.

Libertarian "wing" of the GOP quiet.

Libertarian Republicans consent to tax increases against working Americans.

The left:

Corporations bad must increase taxes on corporations.

Also the left:

Increasing taxes on foreign corporations or corporations that outsourced production very bad. Trump bad.

Making working families pay more for products takes money out of the household. What is it about Republican party that makes people bad at math?

You can't even understand tariffs so don't comment on Keynesian economics.

I’m perfectly aware of what a tariff is and the only thing you lemmings are consistent about is hating Trump.

Explain to me how increasing the price of a product through tariff or increasing the price of the product through higher taxes on corporate profits any different?

One thing I’ll give props to Bernie about is he’s true to his ideology and is for tariffs.

When did you guys become free trade advocates? Surely this isn't just a reaction to Trump?

The right sees tariffs as a necessary evil to accomplish other goals. Nobody wants increased costs in a vacuum.

Tariffs are taxes on poor Americans, who are shielded by a progressive tax code.

Again, GOP shitty at economics.

Not surprised the GOP is willing to hurt poor Americans to achieve their goals.

>only poor people get taxed and spend money

it's a hard life being poor (by your definition). and by your own admission you're 'loaded' aka not poor - so you don't pay taxes or have the need to spend money. must be nice to be a loaded privileged lefty!!!!!

Tariffs are not taxes on consumers directly. Tariffs are taxes on corporations that either have outsourced production, some of the their inputs are outside the country or they are foreign corporations. The consumers suffer because when tariffs are placed those corporations pass on those costs. Just like if leftist governance heightened taxes on corporations, those costs would also be passed onto the consumers.

The irony of being so incredibly stupid at understanding such basic mechanics yet having the audacity to say someone else doesn’t understand Econ. Like I said Bernie understands this and he’s consistent. You on the other hand go into cognitive dissonance and go into full TDS mode, regardless if it’s completely antithetical to your ideology.

A lot of words to say increased prices on goods American families consume.
