1,148 new cases in the UK today, the highest figure in 7 weeks. Looks like we're heading the way of Spain and France with a consistent increase in cases:

Hospital deaths have reduced massively over the past few months to around 5 a day, but it remains to be seen if that continues as cases rise. Daily reported death figures are higher than actuals as Public Health England report a death every time a person that was ever diagnosed with coronavirus dies.

we're on a similar trajectory, our 7-day average is currently around 880 new cases, and with schools re-opening i expect that to increase significantly.

Pretty good visual of how the increase in cases are looking across different countries. All an upwards trend but none as alarming as Spain.

It's a similar trajectory in the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Romania, Japan, Israel and many more. Most countries of the developed world saw case numbers creep up in recent weeks.

It depends a bit on how much the recent increases were driven by domestic infections (people getting complacent, not wearing masks, etc) vs infections brought from abroad by vacationers. People returning from countries where the virus is more prevalent are obviously a risk. This latter factor should fade once the summer holiday season is over.

Our death toll has decreased by 5,000 due to a change in reporting for England deaths, the official death toll is now 41,329. Instead of counting deaths for people with positive test results that die at any point in the future, it's now if they die within 28 days of the positive test result. This puts us in line with the reporting criteria for most other countries.

However, judging by ONS data of death certificates mentioning COVID-19 as a possible cause of death, the figure increases to 56,000. Excess deaths are still 65,000 since March.

You can see more of the tangled web of inter-European disdain here.

Britain would help everyone else in a crisis (though most won't help us), Finns are often reluctant to help others, and Hungary is the Millwall of Europe.

We're even willing to help our fellow European brothers that are most skeptic about helping us out, like Finland <3

Meanwhile the EU tries to influence Belarus (once again). Just as with Ukraine, Russia doesn't like that shit happening. This could be Ukraine 2.0

But hey, applause for the EU, their political correctness and their desire to install pro-EU heads of state in far away places. Bring on another war, it's really worth it.

We could also claim they hide mass destruction weapons, if we were true assholes.

Lukashenko is calling for it, as more and more Belarusians see the man behind the curtain, so to speak. No election there since 1994 has been considered to be free and fair by outside observers.
