Picked up a GameCube lot online:

13 Complete in box games (except for Intellivison Lives which is missing the manual)

and 5 disc only games:

Got this lot for $50.
Not a lot of heavy hitters here..
But less than $3 a game is the right price.

I'm only keeping 9 of these:

I've been wanting a new racing game.
I'm excited to play Need for Speed Carbon!
I have never given a proper playthrough to any Need for Speed game.

I'm also pretty happy about the Intellivision Lives collection.
I recommend looking up some game play of the library interface.
It plays a hilariously cheesey original song about the console lol
There is also a lot of cool history included about each game too!

I don't know much about the Intellivision but I don't have much interest in buying the hardware.
I don't think many of the games are really great, but it holds up better than orther retro consoles like the 2600.
I'm particularly interested in Tower of Doom, an early rogue-like that is supposed to be pretty good.
I look forward to trying out some of the games :)

I'm hoping I can get close to getting my money back selling the doubles/greatest hits/loose discs from this lot.
We'll see!

In other news, after this pickup, I now have 91 GameCube game or 20% of the entire library! B)
Here is to hoping the next 20% will be easier to get! hah

Went to a flea market this weekend.
I usually stop by this place a few times a year.
There are many vendor booths but not really a high turnover of goods.
But I found a couple good things today!

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Sadly no bongos :(

I think I have all 3 games that are compatible with the bongos now.
Unlike the Donkey Konga games though, this one actually looks fun!

I know some cheap bongos will turn up eventually!
But for now, I'm happy to pickup a complete GameCube game on the cheap.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

A really great game.
I already have a copy so this is just to resell. :)

Sadly there is no manual and the case is a little beat up.
It was cheap though, only $1.50.
I think I can flip it for $10 or so.

NCAA Football 14 Xbox 360

Finally I stumble upon this game!
I have sifted through many sports games for the 360/PS3 searching out for this title.

Most sports games are completely worthless, this one shockingly goes for +$50!
Crazy, right?

I don't really understand why it is so valuable as I imagine there are tons of copies floating around.
I think it was the last NCAA football game released with actual teams and players.
For college football fans, I think this game is just in high demand.

I read on other websites about people finding this game frequently for very cheap.
Makes sense, I think most would assume it is just as worthless as Madden 14.
But it is actually pretty uncommon to find in my experience!

Spent $8 on these three games.

Got a really great Valentine's Day Gift this year:

Chibi Robo GameCube

I have wanted to play this game for so long!
I love games that provide a new and unusual experience.
Chibi Robo does that while also being a very fun!

It sounds stupid to describe..
You are a little robot who cleans up after a family.
That's really all the game is! haha

But at the heart of it, it is a platformer with a heavy emphasis on resource management.
Definitely quirky and fun, and a hard game to find in the wild!

I have been considering buying it for a while now..
Trust me, it is not cheap and rarely am I willing to shell out that amount of cheddar for an old game.
But my girlfriend decided to give it to me as a gift and I'm over the moon about it! <3

Yay!

A couple small pickups:

Zelda Collector's Edition Promo (Case and Manual only)

I have had the disc for well over a year.
It's the only disc only game for the GameCube I have held on to.
I kind of got it accidentally.. The disc was hidden inside a copy of Twilight Princess I picked up for $1 on Craigslist lol

It is a pretty cool little game collection of Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 for the NES, plus Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask!
I've actually never played the original Zelda game..
I might need to do that soon!

Anyway, picked this up for $13 online.
Overall, it was way cheaper than buying it complete and I'm always happy to piece together a complete game :)

Bleem! for Windows 98!

A little bit different than the things I normally pickup.
It's got a little bit of value, but I mostly picked it up as a weird retro gaming-related curio.

Bleem is basically a PS1 emulator commercially released to compete with the PS1!
Pretty crazy to think about an independent company releasing an alternative to Sony's hardware!

I had never seen one in person, I don't really know if it is rare?
I just remembered it from an older LGR video lol

Got it for $2 at Goodwill.

Went to a thrift store in a small town outside where I live.
Found a couple things:

Finding Nemo GameCube

While I am trying to complete a full GameCube set..
Something feels kind of icky about buying licensed kids games lol

It's not like Finding Nemo is explicitly a kid's movie..
I saw it around the time it came out and thought it was okay!
Although, I guess I was like 15 or 16 at the time lol
Buying games like this in person makes me ask myself "what the hell am I doing? "

Whatever, it was $1 which is about the most I would want to pay for this type of game.
It's one of the more common GameCube titles, but it's hard to beat $1!

This won't be the last child's game I purchase just to put on a shelf.

Dino Crisis PS1

Cool little find!

Sadly it didn't have the Resident Evil Nemesis Demo.
But the game disc is there and in pristine condition.

I've thought about buying the Dreamcast verison.
I'm fine with a PS1 copy though.
Especially because tit was only $1!!

I am actually surprised to see that this game's value online is only ~$15-$20.
It's a Capcom title and has the reputation that I would think would command a higher price.
But who knows, maybe it is more common than I think?
This is only the first copy I've stumbled upon though.

After checking out some thrift stores and pawnshops last week, I decided to try my luck in another neighboring small town.
Found just a couple small things:

Shamu's Deep Sea Adventrue GameCube

Another fun nautical children's adventure!!
I can't help but associate this game (and anything SeaWorld related) with Black Fish lol
Although I don't think this game is about the mistreatment of animals (hopefully).

In fairness, despite being a child's game, it reminds me of a combination of Ecco the Dolphin and Nights into Dreams.
Swim around with a floaty game engine, collect some items, then fight a boss battle.

I played Ecco the Dolphin on the Genesis as a kid and it would be fun to revisit.
I don't think I will take the time to actually play Shamu though lol
But I am in the market for cheap and complete GameCube games.. no matter the subject!

Battle Hunter PS1 (Disc Only)

I actually bought this game a while ago complete and sold it off.
I kind of regretted it at the time.
It's a pretty big time sink and I just didn't think I would get around to playing it.

Battle Hunter has always been an intriguing game to me.
It's a mix between a tactical RPG and a rogue-like with board game elements.
The music and art design is really great too.
I finished Baten-Kaitos recently which implements a card-game style battle.
I really enjoyed it and I think Battle Hunter could be an interesting compliment to it.

It's a shame it is disc only.
But for a game that will likely be in my backlog for a while (maybe indefinitely  ), I'm fine with it!
My collection has grown so rapidly that my shelf is out of space.
My PS1 games are stored in a closet right now so I feel a little more okay about owning a disc only game lol

Got both these games for $6.
