Happy to hear. What makes this hobby fun for me is the nostalgia or playing/revisiting old games.
It makes it even more enjoyable if I can share that fun! :)

New pickup to get in the Halloween spirit:

D for Sega Saturn

Been curious about this game for a long time.
I don't play many horror/survival horror games but this game is a little different in the genre.
It's kind of like a point and click adventure but a little more limited.
I would probably define it as more of an interactive movie.

You are the daughter of a doctor who went mad and killed everyone in a hospital.
Your job is to go to this hospital to understand what drove your father mad!
~pretty spooky~

It's a short game, about 2 hours.
It's hard to say much about it without spoiling the experience.
I found it incredibly enjoyable and would recommend it if you can pick it up for cheap.
There is a PS1 version as well but I think the Saturn version is the definitive one!

My biggest critique of retro games is that they are often too long and overstay their welcome.
Granted this game is so short due to the limitations of the hardware at the time..
But being able to finish a game in a 2 hour sitting is welcomed by me!

Picked this up for $30.
Not really a great price, but I shelled out the money for a seasonal experience :)

It's been a minute since my last update.
I'm still out there looking for good deals, just haven't found much of anything lately.

Picked up a couple Gamecube sports titles from Half Priced Books:

Madden 2005
NHL 06

Nothing to get excited about really..
But at least they are complete and in the original boxes with their respective licensed stickers.
I don't know this for sure, but I would guess Madden 2005 is the least valuable Gamecube game on the market lol

Whatever, they were $1 each and I didn't have them!

Hopefully my dry streak will end soon~

Picked up a small Gamecube lot online:

Lord of the Rings The Two Towers

I actually had this game for the PS2 when I was a kid
It's a surprisingly good for a licensed game.
It's a little hack-and-slashy which can get a tiring.
But this game is pretty short and I enjoy that they integrate clips from the movie into the game.

I need to clean it up a little bit, that sticker residue is no good!!

Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life

I don't have much experience with the Harvest Moon series.
I downloaded the SNES game on the Wii virtual console many years ago and had a bit of fun.
These games are a huge time sink but sometimes it is nice to play a casual game like this.
I've been trying to get my girlfriend into gaming and I'm hoping she can have some fun with this game too!

Happy to add it to my collection! :)

Legend of Zelda Windwaker

Finally picked up a copy of this game!
I've been wanting to play a Zelda game for a while and I have never even seen this one played.
Obviously, I had a Gamecube as a kid and loved the N64 games..
I don't know why I overlooked this one? Maybe I was turned off by the cell shaded look to it.

I have already sunk a few hours into it and really enjoying it so far.
There are a lot of games on my backlog right now but I just can't resist jumping ahead to this one lol :)

Got these 3 games for $35.
Not thrift store prices but I'm very happy with the price.
Windwaker alone goes for around that price so I jumped on it when I saw the price.
No regrets!

Uhg, I messed up the math on the last page switch -_-
I'm going to change the format so I quick messing it up!

Still no luck from my usual spots.. I miss garage sale season.
But I did pickup another nice bundle of GameCube games online:

Bomberman Generation
Rampage Total Destruction

Last version I played of either of these games was on the N64!

I am definitely interested in giving Bomberman a run through.
Puzzle adventure games are always a good time.
I would argue that Bombermans shares a lot of similarities to Zelda
...just not quite as good. But I think it will scratch the same itch.
Bomberman Generation has a nice cell shaded look to it too

I really liked Rampage World Tour as a kid.
Total Destruction is supposed to play very similar with welcomed graphical update.
I played an old Rampage game recently and the series has kind of lost its appeal to me though..
The action feels a little too repetitive I guess
It's kind of the same reason why I have a hard time getting into beat-em-ups.
Either way, happy to have a complete copy! :)

Midway Arcade Treasures 2
Mortal Kombat Deception

I'm a big fan of arcade compilations!
Midway Treasures 2's selection is not too bad.
I'm particularly happy they included Gauntlet 2!
There are some bad 2D fighters too like Pit Fighter which will be good for a laugh.
Midway is one of my favorite publishers, wish they were still around :(

I actually bought a copy of MK Deception a couple months back, but the disc was damaged beyond repair.
Definitely happy to get my hands on another affordable copy!
This is a weird entry in the MK series that I really want to try.
I can't wait to play Puzzle Kombat, the MK tetris clone! :o

This copy is 100% complete and in much nicer shape.
It's somewhat pricey game too going for ~$25
I'll resell my last copy as a case only

Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Metroid Prime

Two games I already own.
I plan to resell them to recoup my money for this lot.

Dark Legacy is one of the best games on the GC library and I highly recommend checking it out!
It's a very addictive game with lots to do.
I've held on to my cherished childhood copy all these years

Nothing needs to be said about Metroid Prime.
It's consistently regarded as one of the best games in the series.
I've had a copy for a while but I'm embarrassed to say I still haven't had a chance to play it..
Maybe after I beat WindWaker I'll start this next epic.

Got this lot for $65. A pretty sweet price.
I think I will get close to recouping my money reselling the doubles.

Money Spent: $1724
Total Sales: $1637
Profit: -$87

Goodwill credit: $19

I have a lot of things to sell but I will be out of town for 2 weeks in December so I won't try to move anything until I'm back.
Don't know how much time I"ll have to hunt for deals but stay posted~

I lied a little bit in my last post..
I managed to squeeze in a quick thrifting run before I leave town this weekend. :)
Glad I did because I actually found some decent stuff:

All-Star Baseball 2003 GameCube
Madden 2002 GameCube

Half Priced Books was having a half off holiday sale.
I checked it out kind of late and most of the good stuff was already off the shelf..
Not that their selection of GameCube titles are any good anyway.

Got these 2 games for $3.
Not a great price, but $1.50 for GameCube games I don't own is hard to beat.
Even if it is just mediocre sports games I'll likely never play lol

Xenosaga Epidose I PS2
Ninja Assualt PS2

Finally I find something decent from Goodwill!

Xenosaga is a 80+ hour JRPG that is well regarded by fans of the genre.
It looks pretty cool to be honest.
It's got a nice sci-fi aesthetic and while it has a turn-based fight scheme it mixes it up enough to look interesting.
I am a fan of JRPG but when they lean in to the anime style too much it kind of turns me off..
With this game also being so long, this is one destined for the resell pile lol

Ninja Assault is an on-rails shooter.
Looks fun, but I don't have a gun-con or a CRT TV.
Kind of a shame, I wish I could give this game a run the way it should be played.
I really enjoy arcade conversions like this.
Maybe I'll pickup a small CRT to be able to play these games someday.

Paid $6 of Goodwill credit for these 2 games.

Sorry for the late response.. I've been out of town.
It's kind of hard to get a picture of entire collection displayed without rearranging some things.

Here is a quick picture of my gaming shelf:

The gold box at the bottom left is my ~20 GameBoy/GBA games.
The CD case at the bottom right has 14 loose Sega Saturn games.

Not pictured:
a hand full of Gamecube doubles
I think 5 or 6 PSP games
My consoles

It's not the biggest collection but I'm happy with what I have!
Probably ~70% of these games were picked up after starting this blog! :)
