Before the feminist movement about 1 in 3 women worked yes. Most were not married or their husband was shipped out. This number carried all the way into the 50’s well past the feminist movements initial start.

How ignorant. Woman were working in factories and on farms since way before the feminist movement.

He didn't mention anything about working. He said women were treated better before the advent of feminism.

It is already well known that your comprehension of peoples written word isn't very high. Maybe perhaps some people don't understand what they themselves are writing.

You are only seeing employed woman. Woman who worked on their own farms (or labor farms) aren't counted as part of the workforce, since they are working their own land. Most of the other woman who worked in the cities were primarily black woman and immigrants from ireland, italy, and many other european countries.

Woman have always worked hard. They never just sat aroudn and taught children. Children worked too. It is only in the last century of time that they haven't worked themselves to the bone.

That sentence does not necessarily have to be interpreted to mean in an economical way.

Anyway, I don't know why you took it so personally. I was just trying to have a conversation with you. You are so touchy about everything.

Now you are acting like farmers weren’t documented tax paying workers come on.

PS. Working on a family farm back then was no different than taking care of your house and kids. It came with the territory. Those women were STILL housewives pretty often.
