You’re talking about lifestyle inflation. That’s only for the weak mass.

I actually quite like the idea of minimalism. Me and my friend were talking about it.

I guess I simply don't need material things to be happy. My biggest source of entertainment is the internet. I don't really need much else. Plus if I don't have a lot of things, it makes it easy when I have to switch my place of residence.

Some is inflation life style, a reward for yourself. You can still be minimalist and reward yourself, there is a balance.

I would say the weak mass are those that can't obtain a job that enables you to enhance your life. Some people just want to flip burgers and dream of the money they don't have, and what they would do with it.
