The number of migrants is worse than Trump ever had. So that's not surprising. Usually there's a lul over the winter, but that just didn't happen this year, and the growth for summer continued from that.
This is what Biden's dealing with. Massive spike in 2019 under Trump, decline, then sharp spike for the entire rest of 2020 to current.
The border is an absolute mess right now, and I don't think any administration would be handling this cleanly.
Seasonality is a thing sure, but the tick-up has much more to do with the messaging of the current admin & democratic party in general. People send their kids here for a reason, and to put it bluntly, it's because of the anchor baby dynamic.

As of Sunday, Customs and Border Protection was encountering 565 unaccompanied children crossing the border on average per day, according to new data obtained by NBC News, up from an average of 313 children per day last month.
The surge has created a backlog in Border Patrol stations, with over 4,200 children in custody and 2,943 of those children being held over the 72-hour legal limit. The new figures are a record high, topping last week, when there were roughly 3,000 children in Border Patrol custody, 1,400 of whom were being held over the 72-hour limit.
565 kids per day in March, double the previous month. Those are staggering numbers and that's just kids alone.
Democrats really fucked up with the messaging and this issue will only get worse. Some of the fixes are completely retarded as well. Giving some of these Central American countries money? Like lol. Anyone with more than 2 brain cells can see that this money won't make it to it's intended use because most of those governments are fairly corrupt. Even if some does make it, it will do very little because what those countries actually need is systemic changes that will bring jobs and resources which take decades to develop not a few million here and there.
