Even if some does make it, it will do very little because what those countries actually need is systemic changes that will bring jobs and resources which take decades to develop not a few million here and there.

So what do you call it when the numbers were higher under Trump? We're not even at peak levels when the children in cages was a media story. We had multiple caravan events under Trump.

There is the issue of not refusing kids, but that isn't whats driving people to come. They were already coming when Trump was president.

What's driving this is this country is wealthier than others. As long as this exists people will want to come here. People migrating to greener pastures is as old as humanity.

When you say it's cruel to separate kids and or sent them back, guess what more parents are going to send those kids trying to find a way to this country, very simple cause-effect happening here.

I can vibe with that. The policy of not turning away unaccompanied children is like, one you have to take for basic human rights reasons, but it does incentivize people to separate themselves from their children. Not really a good way to fix that.
