Biden would have done better with Covid because when he decided to close the borders and flights from China, he wouldn't have been attacked by half the country for being a chinese hating racist

and might not have cast doubt on the effectiveness of basic public health efforts, like masks

and probably would listen to experts

and probably wouldn't have disbanded the pandemic response unit that he set up in response to the swine flu and ebola events

and probably wouldn't have rejected international testing methodology in favor of wasting a month developing our own

and wouldn't have been worse than literally nothing

Various German media is reporting that both Chancellor Merkel and Minister of Health Jens Spahn have, in internal conferences which took place in recent days, said that the vaccine candidate developed by German biotech company Biontech (in cooperation with Pfizer) is looking good according to their insider knowledge. The reports say that they both affirmed their belief in this vaccine being approved by the beginning of 2021, and that it could, with some luck, even get approved by mid- or late-December.

So far, that's just rumors, but big if true. This optimistic timeline/outlook could provide a boost of morale which a lot of people could really use right now.
