Did not change anything.

I actually tried hooking everything up outside the tower too and still the white VGA light shines bright

edit: I was at a private computer store and the tech there gave me a little speaker like the one I see at the bottom of yours. He told me to benchmark my CPU then my RAM and told me that if I hear beeps; then its a good thing.
But I never heard a single beep.... I just assumed he might have been a little outdated and I just trusted the lights on my motherboard

The beep (codes) tell you what's not working. You should (if everything is OK) only hear ONE beep.

/e He's talking about just the PSU wall plug.

I took out the screw entirely and reseated the GPU.
Still no change

You don't have to take it out... just loosen it one turn. But taking it out will work too. :)

/e the little speaker won't work at all if you don't hook it to the correct pins on the motherboard front panel connectors. In my comp you can see MY little speaker on bottom of case tween the PSU and the fan.

I just took it out entirely as a precaution.

I mean... I guess at this point it can only be a bad motherboard or CPU...

In your expertise.. any idea if ASUS makes poor motherboards?

edit: because I'm just thinking of returning this ASUS one and going with another brand... even though I might have to spend 50$ more

this whole experience has just been a really big turn off from building my own comp in the future

No, as a matter of fact I love ASUS motherboards. they have the best BIOS, they have all kinds of things that make them easier to build with. I'm on my 5th -6th ASUS board now. In fact, I even (currently) have one of their TUF boards. Haven't had any problems.

Mines a lot older than yours... but still going strong... it's been running 24/7 for almost 7 years now. :D

And you never had any problems similar to mine regarding the MOBO?

i've read a good chunk, but not everything. so i apologize if this already came up, but i doubt it did.

i've recently had an encounter like yours with my brothers pc. it started off differently, but ultimately left me unable to access bios by the end of it. (pc on-time got shorter and shorter)

skipping a ton of content... it ended up being the CPU. (one of the last things i expected from the problems persisting) (maybe i should more say, the cpu was expensive and i started with replacing cheaper parts that could have effect)
if you're able to borrow a cpu to test, or take yours and try it in another system. you can at least cross it off the list if it works.

So just an update!

I used the replacement CPU and it worked!

However there was an instance where I was just on Microsoft edge, and again I lost my display, but there was no VGA light on at all.
I rebooted my computer and everything was fine again. I touched my GPU to see if it was overheating or anything and it was barely warm.

Hopefully it was a one time thing

Has that ever happened to any of you?
