So just an update!

I used the replacement CPU and it worked!

However there was an instance where I was just on Microsoft edge, and again I lost my display, but there was no VGA light on at all.
I rebooted my computer and everything was fine again. I touched my GPU to see if it was overheating or anything and it was barely warm.

Hopefully it was a one time thing

Has that ever happened to any of you?

Gratz on the CPU.

As for losing the display... could be the RAM or a RAM stick not seated well. I live in an old old house... sometimes just walking by the comp is enough to loosen a RAM stick enough to cause that.
Could also be a loose cable, etc.

/e You might also want to do that driver thing I mentioned way back. I don't think the driver is the cause, but I would do it anyhow, just to make sure you have a nice clean driver install. It was in post #10

the only time i lose visual is when i'm pushing overclocks on my gpu and running stress situations.

still could be an issue with your gpu/mobo/psu
if you've done all ghot asked about gpu, i'd more lean towards psu.

try keeping track of what, if anything, is stressed when this happens. unless it's a driver issue, i don't think using edge is stressing anything on gpu.

i also just thought that it might be worth doing a fresh windows install. then doing drivers after that.

if your cpu was bad, it could have corrupted a lot of system files while using them.

How would you suggest keeping track of "stress"

at this point, mostly just take mental note if you were doing anything gpu intensive.
