Love the "drop an ls in it" and "gut it for weight reduction" gets thrown around a lot.

Some people love their cars for what they are. I kept my 96 lt1 with its original engine instead of putting an ls based platform in it. When I moved up to an Ls1, stayed with it until I got the 6.0 ls2 car.

Keeping a car unmolested, and planning a build on the platform that is OE to the car gains much more respect. Not to say that the 240 sx running around with the TT Ls1 engine in it isn't jaw dropping. I'm sure it took some planning to make it work as well.

But Kudos to original poster, can't wait to see what you do with your car.

It's basically the same motor, it is 6 years newer and freshly rebuilt, but not really a big improvement. My 1987 302 is actually better imo because it has forged pistons but makes 10 less hp stock. Both are still relatively weak with only 225 and 235 hp. The original 302 that was in it I'm going to have bored out and make it a 347 rocker motor and try to find a notch to put it in and give the vert to my wife since she drives them a lot easier than I do. I want something fun to drive again this summer, but something badass to drive within a couple summers.

No, it does not.
I was simply stating the ls swap was mentioned. As was gutting it.

He's keeping the same platform. Ford in a Ford. He is building it for the better.
I'm pretty sure I did not sound stupid nor was anything I said crack induced. I'm fairly positive that my post was educated with years of experience to back it up.

Just to give you a little hint, I'm currently ASE Certified , a Parts Expert, GM and Ford Parts Expert Qualified. Thank You.

Don't need forged pistons unless you're packing some air, even then stock can handle a decent amount

I've been told they will take up to around 500 hp, I'm hoping to be in the 450-475 range once it's built.

LMAO... Please.
I don't even have a dick.

I know several mechanics who can't find their way around an engine bay, let alone tell me what parts they need for what ever they're working on. My day is filled with conversations that go like "I need this part" and I get a picture... It's up to me to decipher the rest. Some shops I make them send me a VIN because they can't even tell what they're working on. How do you confuse a Toyota Matrix with a Nissan Murano???

Anywho, I take it all in stride. It's hard being a female in a male dominated field. I take your comments in stride as well. You don't know me and it's easy to make assumptions.

Have a great evening.
