update:

Getting efficient XP and leveling is proving to be really difficult.
I've beaten nightmare now, at level 33.

They say the maggots in river is supposed to be where you level, but the xp is honestly fucking trash
Cows xp is trash, norm xp is trash, nightmare river is trash, I don't even know what to do at this point honestly




I've been leveling in nightmare river, to the point where I barely want to play this anymore. and doing cow king for drops

those are some pretty epic unique durabilities. 240 dura lmao never need to repair

Characters Level 25-74: For any monster above your level, you get EXP*(Player Level / Monster Level). For monsters between 6-10 levels below you, you receive between 100% and 5% experience. If the monster is more than 10 levels below your level, you receive 5% of the monster's experience points.

Maggot Young is level 49 in Nightmare, which means till lvl 49, you will get less XP from killing them.

That is very interesting.. It almost forces you to grind each area if you want to lvl steady... in single player at least.. But with what you said being a factor, I would probably just grind progression until an area I like is near my lvl and then go grind that
