You're right on the corporate puppet, heard something about a BMW deal to keep labor cheap and ensure production in Hungary.

The problem there has never been immigration though, nobody wanted to go there in the first place, now Orban needs walls to prevent the massive emigration taking place, to keep his own citizens inside the country.

well, the thing is that the overwhelming majority of hungarians clearly rejects immigration, however corporations are among the big supporters of that all over the world to get cheap labour
since the people wont accept that they now try to make the hungarians work more for more profit

they are lightyears away from a being a sinkhole that needs walls to keep people in and i am certain orban will have to retract this abomination of a law

look up the hungarian history under ottoman rule - the hungarians know damn well why they oppose the spread of islam in their country.
the "wall to lock in their own people"-part is pure bullshit.

their new overtime law is disgusting though. it should really tell you something when the far-right jobbik opposition (they are to the right of Orban's Fidesz party!) joins the leftists and centrist parties to oppose this law.

there were also pulse of europe demos, demos in brussels against the UN migration compact, demos in spain, and so on, which all didnt resonate in this thread. we are not focussing on the french yellow vest protests because of a partisan bias, we focus on them because - I guess - we all just like to poke fun at France and Sauci.

edit: another contributing factor might be that western europe is most likely overrepresented here on d2jsp compared to eastern europe.
