Who thinks any oil is healthy is what I want to know?

here.. removing all oil from your diet is less healthy than including some. Transfat should definitely be avoided, saturated fat being bad has been a result from research done in the sixties. By choosing 20 countries and comparing % of hart diseases.
Its critics pointed out that the result would be different by choosing other countries, which were not included in the research. Later research has indeed been financed by the *sugar industry. And confirmed the initial theory.
Yet in 2010 all most all of the researched results were combined debunking the theory that saturated fat was causing heart diseases. Like any research about food, this combined paper, using almost all of the test results so far, still bringing up doubts.

So it's fair to say: We do not know yet. But it is less evident to cause hart diseases than we thought it to be.

However, with any type of food, it is wise to not consume too much of it, as then everything will be poison.

Only long term isolated research with multiple test subjects can guarantee that.

You got any sources for this refutation?

Read page 385 of the third study in particular.

Aggregate cholesterol has 0 link to heart disease.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3560398

Low cholesterol from statin drugs and low fat diets are correlated with death
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12397569

Saturated fats alone have no link to heart disease

Basically imo, if it helps getting a fitter body and you're passionate about it, helping you to get results. Then it will decrease possible health issues in the future. Making it healthier.

Not sure if I can buy that saturated fats and high cholesterol aren't bad for your heart, but I will say that the single largest danger in the USA is the overprescribing of statin drugs. While Americans in bumfuck West Virginia and everywhere else whine about painkillers being overprescribed because their stupid uncle or cousin got hooked and got into heroin, millions more are dying from statin drugs damaging their arteries and hearts.

What's your opinion on the Keto movement or people like Gary Taubes challenging conventional wisdom about saturated fat risks with heart disease?

I mean Gary could very well be wrong on this , but he's not a fringe lunatic preaching stuff to get people to buy his vitamins like Alex Jones.

He's an educated guy and well meaning.

I really don't know what to trust on this issue. Although I do think it's clear at least that fat heavy diets and almost complete removal of carbohydrates will help people lose weight , just a matter if sustaining a very low carb or full keto diet has the severe health risks conventional nutrition science says it does.
