On a related note I was watching a youtube video with Gordon Ramsey. I've come to the conclusion he doesn't know how much a fucking tablespoon is. He says a tablespoon and then pours 4-5 tablespoons of oil straight from the bottle into the pan.

many chefs don't measure, but still to be off by that much is a bit of a strange thing.

my wife is big into baking and me cooking, her need to measure everything perfectly and my need to never measure causes a few fun situations lol

It's mostly when frying or making soups. Not so much when you're baking. Baking is a different beast than what most chef's do.
