They've grown so much from the early days of youtube tech coverage when they needed to suck dicks and shill in order to make sure they get the next big release at no cost. They have been financially elevated by their fanbases, and are not above throwing companies that they once drank from the teats of under the bus when they pull shenanigans because they can just easily buy all the new shit as soon as it comes out now if said companies get angry and decide to stop giving them free shit to review.
The greedy corporations manipulation of the tech press has backfired on a massive scale, and I love it.
I mean does anyone here remember the immense amount of shilling that was going on in the tesla days? reviewers on videos and especially tech site articles touting the gtx 2xx series as if it was god's gift to mankind when AMD's offering was objectively better in every conceivable way, essentially compensating for how underwhelming the product actually was. It sickens me to this day. Although the butterfly effect and mind share damage is done, with nvidia
actually making better shit nowadays as proof... at least we're beyond that kind of shit happening again.
