Sorry for the lack of updates...
It's been a busy Winter season for me.
There just hasn't been much to add!

I haven't been out thrifting much..
But I have been making a dent in my backlog!

I have quite a heft resale pile right now.
After the new year, I'll clean out stock.
Then some fun things may start rolling in! :)

Anyway, here is a small pickup from earlier this month:

Shenmue II - Original Xbox

Shenmue has a very important place in video game history.
The original was an incredibly ambitious game.
One of the best on the Dreamcast.
But also partly responsible for the death of Sega..

It is one of the first true open world games.
Kind of a life sim..
There are so many little details added.
But in some ways, it felt kind of directionless.

Your father was killed... the mission: find out who did it.
Find someone who knows something.
Go to the next person.
Spend some down time doing random things.
Occasionally get into a street brawl
(with the same controls as Virtua fighter!)
and go back to mostly doing nothing lol

It is not a series for everyone.
But darn it, I love it for its quirks.
And it has a cool 1980's Japan setting.

Anyway, Shenmue II never got a NA Dreamcast release.
It did come out in PAL territories though.
But like many other failed DC, it made its way to the OG Xbox.
Happy to get a chance to play it!

I also look forward to watching the 'movie'.
I think it is just a recap of the original game.
But it's like an hour long :o lol

Got this at my LGS for $12.
OG Xbox, you are so affordable <3

Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing holiday break!

I have a small (but not insignificant) addition:

Space Channel 5 - Dreamcast

A lovely gift from my Fiancé <3

This game has been a glaring gap in my DC library.
It maybe is not among the best games on the console..
But it is one that captures the Sega aesthetic so well.

A quirky and fun rhythm game.
I love the art design so much.
Even the lenticular cover is fun!

It's actually pretty affordable for a DC game.
Just never found a great deal on it.
So happy to have this now! :)

I've had a bit of down time this last week.
It's been nice to have some time off work!

Decided to spend an afternoon in the flea market.
I hadn't been in a few months!

Found a few nice things:

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (Greatest Hits) - PS2
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (Greatest Hits) - PS1

One of these vendors was a MK fan I guess
I'm personally not a big fighter fan..
But I do have some love for MK.

One of my first video games was MK3 on the Genesis.
I played it a ton, but was awful at it.
But as a 7 year old, I just ate up the ridiculous violence lol
I still have my old copy today :)

Anyway, I just got them to flip.
MK deadly alliance doesn't carry much value.
But it was $1 so I couldn't leave it behind.

I've known that MK trilogy is somewhat pricey.
I always thought it was just a compilation of the first 3 games..
Well, now I've learned it's an entirely unique entry to the series!

I think it is well liked because of its roster.
It has the largest roster of the original-graphic style games.
And you can play as all the bosses from the previous game.

PS3 Controller (Urban Camo Skin)

PS3/Xbox 360 controllers are always nice to see.
Especially in good condition and with a unique skin!

It was only $3 :o
It was also labeled as a PS2 controller..
Well, it was a no brainer pickup lol
I tested it and it works great!

I also picked up something a little unusual:

Ocarina of Time Poster

Never tried to sell something like this..
I honestly don't even know how to price it lol
It's a 1998 authentic poster though that came in a guidebook.
It's not in the best shape...
but I couldn't leave it behind.

I don't have any gaming posters or artwork.
It's honestly not really my thing.
But I think it is super neat!
And I think someone will really enjoy this when its hung up.

Picked it up for real cheap..
Who knows what I'll get out of it though :)

Got all this stuff for $15!
A really great deal, imo :)

Fiance and I went down to Tennessee last weekend.
We met some friends at a cabin in the woods.

We had quite a bit of down time (much needed).
While traveling down there, we stopped at couple thrift spots.
Got some nice stuff!

Guitar Hero Smash Hits (Factory Sealed) - Wii

This was a bit of surprising one for me.
It caught my eye because it was sealed..
But I didn't realize how good of find it was.

I played so much GH back in the day.
I love rhythm games and it doesn't get much better.
However all the accessories are too much to keep around.
I don't have any of my original stuff anymore.
Instead, I play other rhythm games that just use a standard controller.
Recently been playing a lot of Space Channel 5 :)

Anyway, Guitar Hero was a massive hit.
I didn't think a series that sold millions of copies could be valuable.
Well, I guess there are a few that are.
Smash Hits being one of them!

It sent me down a rabbit hole to see what other versions are collectible.
I guess GH Metallica and GH 5 sell pretty well too.
I usually overlook Guitar Hero games...
But now I will keep an eye out lol

Got this for $2
Fantastic deal!

Doom Infernal Sky - Novel

I've mention this before, but I have branched out to collecting/reselling more than games.
DVDs, VHS, books, manga; basically anything collectible that catches my eye.
I have kept those things separate from this game blog..
But this is at least a book about a video game lol
So why not throw it in here? :)

Found this (as well as a few other books) at the same thrift.
It's the original 1996 print run.
Normally sells ~$40 in nice condition.
This one has some notable cosmetic damage though.
Still, I think I can get $20 out it.
I thought it was a neat find :)

Got this book for $1.

Books are so cheap.
I've really spent more time looking through them at Flea Markets.
It's fun to see all the old Fantasy/Scifi art!
I've also been keeping any Magic the Gathering novels I find :D

Still in purge mode.
Traded a few things in to my LGS.

Just some odds and ends that aren't worth selling individually:
Hot Shots Golf - PS1
NFL 2K (Disc Only) - Dreamcast
Star Wars Battle Front 2 - PSP
A few power/composite cables

Only got ~$9 credit for it.
But I'm happy to clear the space :)

I then immediately bought something while I was there lol:

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - Wii

Not necessarily a game I was seeking out..
But I saw the price and had to snag it.

Admittedly, I am not the biggest fighter fan.
But DBZ Budokai games are really fun!
I had the original back on PS2 as a kid.
And about a year ago I got the second on GameCube.
Well, now I have the third!

This game is considered the best in the series.
It is pretty sought after too!
On the PS2, it is crazy expensive..
But even the Wii version normally runs ~$50+

Still trying to beef up my Wii library.
Especially while it is still relatively cheap.
Just had to throw an extra $12 to get it.
Happy to have it :)
