Been making some good thrift store finds lately.

Ape Escape for Playstation1

Got it at Goodwill for $2.

Pro-tip: most Goodwill's do half off sale on the first Saturday of the month.
Half off at Goodwill is nice, but I honestly find better items AFTER the sale.
Going by after new inventory is shelved has been pretty good strategy for me.

I've never played Ape Escape, but I hear it's good!
It's a 3D platform-ish game with no shortage of style.
Kind of a goofy game where you capture Apes using a variety of fun items.

It is probably most known as being one of the earliest 3D games to use analog controls.
The back artwork even says "The first and only game" to take advantage of it

It's worth a decent price and not really my preferred style of game.
Probably will be on the sell list.

A couple nice things at Half Priced Books:

Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit for Playstation 1

I didn't realize there were 3 NFS games on PS1.
I like racing games, but I've actually never played anything in the series!

I think the Porsche Unleashed game is the more sought after.
I don't care, I look forward to playing it :)

Balder's Gate Dark Alliance for Playstation 2
Burnout 3 Take Down for Playstation 2

Dark Alliance is an amazing game!
I actually already own 1 and 2 and will never part ways with them.

If you like Diablo and have never played a Balder's Gate game, I highly recommend checking it out!
It's an isometric Dungeon Crawler in the D&D universe.
The Dark Alliance ones are the only console games, but really great,
Can't say enough good things about it :)

Burnout series is awesome.
Never played the 3rd one though..
Wish I could

I really need to pick up a PS2 sometime.
I find a lot of good games on the platform for cheap!

Paid $8 for these 3 games, no complaints here!

Profit: $1025/$957/$68

Picked up a few games at a flea market the other day:

Medal of Honor Playstation 1
Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22 for Playstation 1 (Disc Only)

Second copy of Medal of Honor I have picked up.

I don't think game has aged particularly well.
It's no bad, just kind of mediocre imo.

I grabbed it to bundle with some other PS1 games I'm trying to move.
Going to try my luck selling some of my random PS1 games together as an online auction.
I'm trying to clear out some space..
I don't want to horde games for every system haha

I know there is a valuable DBZ PS1 game but this is not it.
I didn't know much about it but played a little bit today.
It's a 2D fighting game that is really bad lol
It has a lot of cool characters but feels really clunky to play.

Kensei Sacred Fist Playstaion 1 (no back artwork)

This is a pretty uncommon game.
A 2D fighter developed by Konami.
Looks kind of like tekken.. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Wish it was complete <_<

WTA Tennis Tour Gamecube
Catwoman Gamecube

Just a couple of random Gamecube games.

I'm kind of curious to check out the Tennis game.
I enjoy other tennis games so maybe it is actually good?
Never heard of it really.

I'll probably never get around to playing Catwoman lol
I don't know anything it, but I have seen the movie.
If it is anything like it then I don't have much faith in this game.

Got this lot for $20.

Profit: $1025/$977/$48

Small haul from Goodwill:

Samba De Amigo Wii

I always wanted this game for Dreamcast..
I usually don't pickup games that require extra peripherals though.
Although I did have the entire Rockband setup at one time lol

The conversion to the Wii motion controls seem like a natural fit.
It's not hard to find and dirt cheap.
But rhythm games can be really fun, even if simple.

Happy to have this game :)

Half-Life Playstation 2 (Disc Only)

I've never played a Haf-Life game..
I always thought of them as PC games, didn't really know it was on PS2.
Just picked it up to re-sell!

Paid $5 for these 2 games

Sold a lot of PS1 games for $27:

Medal of Honor
Medal of Honor Underground
Treasure Planet
Sorcerer's Maze
Spec Ops Airborne Commandos
All Star Racing 2
007 Tomorrow Never Dies
Spin Jam
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
DBZ Ultimate Battle 22 (Disc only).

This was my first time listing something as an auction..
Happy enough with the selling price.

None of these games are worth the effort to sell individually and I wanted to clear out some space :)

Picked up a small Gamecube lot online:

Shadow the Hedgehog Gamecube
Monsters Inc Scream Arena Gamecube
WWE Day of Reckoning Gamecube

Just some filler stuff.

Shadow the hedgehog looks a lot like Sonic Adventure.
I liked Sonic Adventure alright, but who knows about this.

Monsters Inc is a dodge ball game.
Seems simple and boring.
Licensed games can be surprising though..
I'm willing to try it for a few minutes lol

I don't give a shit about wrestling..
I have no clue what Day of Reckoning is about!

Future Tactics The Uprising Gamecube
Space Raiders Gamecube

Future Tactics is a tactical RPG without a grid.
It has a style and attitude that reminds me of Team Fortress.
Just not nearly as good and more annoying.

It didn't review well, but I generally like the slow pace of tactics games.
Sometimes I enjoy a game that doesn't take itself too seriously.
If it has good game mechanics I'll have some fun with it :)

Space Raiders is an updated version of Space Invaders.
It's changed to an isometric perspective where aliens walk toward the screen.
Instead of a ship, you are a hero with a laser gun.
Kind of looks like Sin & Punishment maybe?

I guess it has a really cheesy story mode and didn't review well.
But it kind of reminds me of a spin-off vertical shooter.

Turok Evolution Gamecube
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour Gamecube (Player's Choice)

I played the original Turok on N64..
I guess that means I haven't played a Turok game in close to 20 years lol

I thought the original was fun back then!
The Turok franchise seems to have lost its footing over the years.
But every shooter that wasn't Halo in this era seemed not worth the time.

I like the idea of running around and shooting dinosaurs with an arrow or laser gun..
What's not to like?

Already own Mario Golf so it will be on the resell list.
I don't like to keep Player's Choice titles anyway!

Got these 7 games for $30
Not a bad deal, especially since most are complete.

And I will recoup some money selling Mario Golf :)

Bought kind of a random lot online..

Ultimate Fighting Championship Dreamcast
NHL 2K Dreamcast.

Pretty common titles.

NHL 2K is actually pretty good.
But it came in a weird aftermarket case..
I don't own it, but it's cheap enough that not having complete it bothers me.
I'll probably trade it in for store credit ha.

I have no interest in UFC.
The fighting is too slow, it's just kind of boring.
But I don't have it and I keep anything Dreamcast

11 Disc only Sega Saturn games:

I don't own a Sega Saturn, but I have been thinking about collecting for the system.
I am a huge Sega fan and the Dreamcast is probably my favorite retro console.
I've never even seen a Saturn in person!
It is a really intriguing system to me.

The problem is it is so expensive to collect for!
Some of the better games go for hundreds.
As much as I want to play Panzeer Dragoon Saga, I'm not going to buy it for ~$700.

A big problem are those horrible cases.
Saturn cases are always broken and not easy to replace.
Loose games can be affordable though.
And there are aftermarket cases if you don't like how loose games display.

I got this lot for $60.
Even though I don't have a Saturn, I didn't want to pass this up.
Less than $5 a game is a great deal.

Nothing here is super valuable, but there is good variety.
It's a great start to a Saturn collection :)

I think my next big purchase may be a Sega Saturn..

Some notable titles in this lot:

Virtua Fighter 1 & 2.
Cult classic fighters.
One of the first steps into 3D polygonal fighters.
Call me crazy, but I actually prefer this style over Street Fighter sprites.
I really like the arcade game too!

Sega Rally Championship.
Sega Rally 2 for the DC is one of my most played games.
They are simple, but good arcade ports.
The drift and turns are just so satisfying!

Bug!
One of the earliest 3D platformers.
It was released a full year before Mario 64!
It's really limited in the 3D world, but was a big achievement for its time.
I look forward to playing it for the novelty

Panzeer Dragoon.
A game I've wanted to play for a longggg time!
It's an on-rail shooting adventure where you fly on a dragon.
Looks really great! Has the style that I really like in retro Sega.

The Japanses game is Blazing Tornado.
It's a 2D wrestling game.
I don't like wrestling games, but this has a nice look to it at least.
The sprites remind me of a Super Nintendo.
It will be fun to see how the Saturn plays 2D games.

Don't know what I'll do with the sports titles.
I may just pass them off..
I eventually want to go the repro-case route and I don't want to pay for common titles I won't play.
