Local gamestore had a buy 2 get one free sale.
I decided to trade in my resell pile to grab some games.
I could have made more money selling them, but I have been too lazy to sell things recently lol

NBA Hoopz Dreamcast

A pretty uncommon sports game.
But one that is actually a lot of fun!

Basically, it's a 3-on-3 version of NBA Jam.
It's the next iteration after NBA on NBC and uses the same polygons.
While NBA on NBC was a straight arcade port, NBA Hoops is more flushed out with seasons and tournament modes.
I have been playing this game a lot lately lol

Fireblade Gamecube

My appreciation of Midway as a game developer has grown a lot lately.
I've noticed that most of the games I play today are Midway games from the early 2000s.
I think it is because they are very arcade like and lend themselves to quick pick-up-and-play game sessions.

I saw some gameplay footage of this game online and I thought it looked pretty fun.
Meh, I'm a little disappointed with it,
It's just boring.. takes to long to kill anything and it isn't really challenging.

Pikmin 2 Gamecube

I have wanted to play this game for many years!
I've played the original through a few times but never the sequels.

Pikmin is a unique puzzle game I really love.
Collecting all the engine parts is really satisfying.
It's just as refreshing today as it was in the early 2000s
I wish more games were like it!

This version is generally perceived to be a total improvement over the first.
For the most part, I agree.

There are new Pikmin to perform different tasks.
Some game mechanics are sped up (like harvesting pikmin)
And you now control two players instead of one!

However I think the main story is really dull in this one.
In the orignial, you crashland on a planet where you use pikmin to retrieve your engine parts before you run out of oxygen.
In Pikmin 2 you are just harvesting material to save a failing business? lame.
I'm about 1/3 of the way through it and have been having a lot of fun.
I think the original is better though :)

Traded in a few things to get these:
the portable PS2 screen.
4 Xbox 360 games
The Gameboy Color

No regrets.

That Gameboy is a great pick up. I want to get an old game boy so bad. I had that same exact one as a kid

It was fun to mess around with :)
I think the GBC library has some good stuff.
I still play Heroes of Might and Magic 1&2 on when I travel lol.

If you want to play Gameboy games, just pickup an Advance SP.
It's not much more money than a GBC.
The non-backlit screen is hard to go back to lol

Sad news, the GD-ROM on my Dreamcast went out.
It had been failing for a while..
I had done a trick to adjust the petentiometer with a screwdriver.
But a lot of games were just not reading at all anymore :(

Decided to pickup a new Dreamcast on an online auction.
Sucks to pay for something I already own..
But that's just the way it is when you play on 20 year old hardware lol :)

Here is what I bought:

Model 1 Dreamcast

Only 1 controller and no VMU.
That's okay, it works! haha

Sega Smash Pack Vol 1
NBA on NBC
Expendable
Hydrothunder

Some good games here.

Sega Smash Pack is not valuable, but something I've wanted to pick up for a while.
It's a great compilation of Gensis (Sonic, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, etc.) and Virtua Cop 2 Saturn.
What excites me is that it has Shining Force!

Expendable is an arcade type shooter.
Reminds me of an action adventure Canon Spike.
You know, only much more affordable lol.
It doesn't have a lot of depth but it is a fun game if you can find it cheap.

I played Hydrothunder in the arcade, but that is my only experience.
Racing games are fun, and a boat racer might be a fun change of pace.

Already have NBA on NBC!
It's a great NBA jam sequel.

Test Drive 6
Sega GT
Metropolis Street Racer

A great little racing lot.

Metropolis Street Racer is really the gem here.
Handles great, looks great, and is a lot of fun to play!

It has a neat gimmick where the lighting matches the time of day in real time.
Pretty cool for a game that is almost 20 years old!

Paid $105 for this lot.
Not bad considering I snagged 5 games for the DC I don't already own.

I probably play the Dreamcast more than anything else these days..
I just had to shell out the money! ha

It's been a bad year for garage sales.
It seems like it has rained every day this summer!

Here is my lone pickup from my short Saturday morning garage-saling

Guitar Hero On Tour Nintendo DS

Kind of an interesting peripheral.
Seems ambitious to add an attachment like this to a portable
I didn't even know Guitar Hero was on the DS but I don't even own one!
Meh, I wouldn't have picked it up if it wasn't complete in the box.

Got it for $1.. I think I can sell it for a little bit more maybe, hah.

Picked up a huge lot at a garage sale today..

60 PS2, Xbox, 360, Wii, and PS1 games

37 loose PS2 games

20 loose Xbox and PS1 games

All of this was bundled together in a box for $20!
I didn't really have time to search through it at the sale, but at $20 I'm sure there is some money here.

Don't get me wrong, these are mostly common titles and most are scratched to hell.
But this was ~$0.17 a game.

I'm still sorting through this stock but if I can sell 4 of them for $5 I already have my money back lol
Most will likely be sold as a bundle though

Definitely my biggest pickup ever!

Put up the majority of my last pickup in an online auction..

It sold for $26.

I was kind of hoping it would go for more, but honestly I think it was a fair deal.
Most of the games are common filler titles and the buyer paid shipping which was not cheap!

A lot of them were in bad shape..
It's a nice lot for a brick and mortar store or flea market booth.
For a small time seller like me, it's not really worth the effort :)

Besides, I'm moving at the end of the month so I'm happy to get rid of bulky things!

Here is what I still have from the lot:

Trauma Center Second Opinion Wii

A really cool game, and one I've been looking for.
It's an Atlus title, but you can find it cheap, maybe ~$5

You are a surgeon and perform operations using the Wii-mote.
The controls work really well and it's a fun game!
I'll be keeping this one.

I think some of these Wii games might go up in price over the next couple years..
Especially ones that integrate the motion controls well.
Happy to get it while it is still cheap.

Marc Ecko's Getting Up PS2

Never heard of this game, but it seems interesting.
It is a graffi game but with sandbox elements and beat-em-up fighting.

The back says "This game does for graffiti what Tony Hawk did for skatebaording games"
I think it looks more like a GTA game than Tony Hawk.
Neat idea, but I will be reselling it.

Final Fight: Streetwise PS2 (disc only)

This is the only uncommon game of the lot.
Wish it wasn't disc only because it has some value complete.

I have never played a final fight game.. but they have a good reputation.
I think this is the first (maybe last?) conversion of final fight to the 3D world.

Of course, it has sandbox elements as well...
Everyone wanted to make a GTA game in the PS2 era lol

Picked up a small lot from Goodwill:

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 PS1

I didn't know there were TH games past 2 on PS1
I guess it is not that surprising, these games don't really rely on graphics.

I like TH games, but I've actually never played 4.
I don't think I will keep it though.
I have been thinking about thinning out my PS1 library and bundling some stuff together.

I really want to focus on keeping Dreamcast and Gamecube :)
Just don't play PS1 games too often..

NCAA Football 2005 Gamecube
MVP Baseball 2005 Gamecube

I don't have much to say about these games..
Still buying up anything Gamecube that is complete and a good deal.

Who knows, I do enjoy some sports games.
I'll give them a try!

Time Crisis 4 PS3 (Factory Sealed)

It's never been opened, but there is some damage on the case..
Looks like a dog chewed the bottom right corner.

I love Time Crisis in the arcade.
My local movie theater had a machine when I was a kid and I have a lot of fond memories.
I don't have a PS3 lite gun and have no plans on picking one up.
I'm hoping I can flip this game to make my money back on this mediocre lot.

Got these games for $11
