The little man's just walking around with his chest sticking far out.

Nothing to see here.

There's one thing very disconcerting about the recent collisions with the USS Fitzgerald and USS John S McCain: Both are Aegis destroyers, and thus are equipped with the best defense we have against ballistic missile launches: The Aegis system itself. Both were also based out of Yokosuka, Japan, so were well within the area needed to intercept a potential launch against friendly targets.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought there was something sketchy going on here.

I'm still wanting to know how ships that size we're allowed to get that close, let alone how they ever even managed to literally hit our ships. Seems someone had to of been asleep at the wheel.

How do you intercept a nuclear equiped weapon safetly tho?

Genuinely curious, youd think the fallout would have to go somewhere

Interception doesn't trigger the nuclear warhead. It just destroys the missile carrying it. The real issue is just recovering the warhead itself.

not even sure if we can do that since we haven't proven the ability to shoot down one of these " test missiles"

It's still the best chance we have.
