Tough last couple days.. I lost my father in law to a massive MI.. He was 60, 4 days from his 61st birthday.

Still training, but not motivated..

Hit 155x13 today on flat bench, new pr.

Did some bbb and dips than rolled out..

RIP Edward Dickerson, one of few men I looked up to.

Thanks man.. My wife is pretty crushed... My heart is broken, I didn't think I could hurt this badly... I loved the big guy like he was my blood..

He was a tri-athlete, he completed several century rides, beat Multiple Myeloma, treated everybody as if they were his equal and just all around a hell of a guy.

In other news, hit 285 x10 today on squats.

Gonna go take a few shots for Ed..

Take care bro.

Sometimes it's good to take one step back from hitting the gym hard, take a short 2-3 day break and then hit the gym with all darkness crumped up inside.
I often dig deep for a heavy set and workout with fury and tears in my eyes, coming from intense focus. The iron can be your therapy and helped me over many losses through the past.

Cheers!

You and your family have my condolences. I hope you will find new motivation in the gym again soon. I think the gym game is about inspiration, not motivation. It goes deep if you want success, just like success in anything else. Maybe you'll find added purpose with all of this:

Thanks for the words of encouragement again guys..

Missed yesterday, we buried Ed.. Back to the grind today though, hit bench pretty hard..

Felt like max effort today, did 195x5. Did some incline, barbell rows, heavy Yates rows and 5 sets of 5 dips with a 25 lb plate.

Hit shoulders a little bit today too, did some light weight strict press for sets of 15..

Thinking that next weekend I might shoot to hit a new PR for a single on bench just to see if I'm anywhere near 2 plates.. I know the 1rm calc is all fucked up, but according to it I should be close.

Deadlift Monday

265x3
300x3
357.5x7

Did some light weight RDLS, really focused on stretching my hammies like a fucking rubber band.. Finished up with a fast paced 1 mile run, ended up being a 6.5 min mile.

Monster walks, explosive jumps, now home! Onward to school..

Happy patriots day all.

E: Kind of cool, retook my measurements today and compared them to my measurements from June 10th 'when I started this bulk'..

Waist "smallest point": 34, now 34
Waist at navel: 36, now 36
Hips: 39.75, now 39
Calves: 15.5, now 16
Neck: 16.5, now 17

I'm up 10-12 lbs in 3 months and I feel fucking stronk..

It's tough to measure my biceps just because of the sheer amount of loose skin, so it's tough to accurately measure them.

Also, I'm a dumb ass, it was 360x6
