Wow this surprises me. Didn’t expect going from 5 to 4 frames to do so much.

So there really is absolutely nothing that can beat eTomb then for 2hand? Outside of maybe some theoretical max rolled eth self repair tare.

Check it again, I used the wrong ed% multiplier for etomb and archon at first. Archon wins DPS slightly at that ed% vs low etomb.

A higher roll etomb is impossible for a botd to beat, though.

I see 250+ ED tomb more often now. Did a couple of searches and saw a handful of them have sold in the past day or two.

In that case. I better stick with the GPA for now and get a higher rolled eTomb and then switch to that.

I use Arreat Summit and a calculator for most of this:

http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items

---

GPA - Average damage 86.5 * .5 ethereal bonus = 43.25 + 86.5 = 129.75

You have 399% ed so 129.75 * 4.99 = 647

---

Archon - Average Damage 91 * .5 = 45.5 + 91 = 136.5 * 4.99 = 681

---

Etomb

228 + 70% from two 35 ed jewels = 298% cryptic axe

91.5 average * .5 = 45.75 + 91.5 = 136.25 * 3.98 = 542

Then you have to check DPS.

https://d2.lc/IAS/

etomb 7/4 frame fury does 5.43 attacks per second = 5.43 * 542 = 2,943 average DPS

GPA 8/5 frame fury does 4.46 attack per second = 4.46 * 647 = 2885 avg DPS

Archon 9/5 fury does 4.31 attacks per second = 4.31 * 681 = 2935 avg DPS

This is before enhanced damage from items, strength and skills.

Let's assume level 30 fury 593%, 300% fort, 600 strength for GPA and etomb and 614 strength for archon

15.93 (1493%) * 2885 = 45,958 DPS GPA
15.93 * 2943 = 46,881 DPS eTomb
16.04 * 2935 = 47,077 DPS Archon

So the Archon titan build is slightly the best DPS

---

One more thought, if you used 2 shaels instead of two 35% ed/ias jewels in the etomb it would look like this:

6/4 Fury = 5.68 attacks per second

228 % ed ethereal Cryptic Axe is ~ 91.5 average * .5 = 45.75 + 91.5 = 136.25 * 3.38 = 460

460 * 5.68 = 2621 * 15.93 = 41,621

If the etomb is 250% base with two 35% ed jewels:

572 average
3107 DPS before ed%
49,499 DPS total

Maxroll.gg is a really terrible site then with it listing a perfect eTomb DPS as nearly 3x lower than a perfect eBotD GPA.

I’ll use the resources you linked from now on.

I have no idea what maxroll is but I'll go look at their site.

Send me a dm to their calculator you were using. I can message them a fix if it's broken.

I pm’d you. Maxroll is basically the default page for builds for people who are unaware of D2jsp. It has Dbrunski, Neanderthal and some other streamers on it. They have leveling guides, end game guides and a planner etc. Not sure if I can link websites but you can just google their name + diablo 2 planner and you should find it.

I found it. It's a pretty clunky UI, still trying to figure out how to add str/dex lol.

By the way, for charms you absolutely want to use shapeshift skillers for these high damage weapons.

Why is that? I figured stacking more ED% on already high ED% is useless? Or rather, it is just adding, not a seperate multiplier. E.g. if I already have say 1000% total ED, adding 300 to it is just 30% more damage.

If anything, wouldn’t summoner skillers be better for HoW? That seems a better return on the damage increase. I figured raw max damage would be better.

Fury is 17%ed per level and HoW is only 7% per level so no to summon charms. You also get life% and attack rating% from shapers.

So here's a quick calc:

37x 3/20/20s are +111 max
9x 45 life shapers + 10x 3/20/20s is 153% ed and 30 max

250% etomb:

3/20/20s:

111/2 = 55.5 extra average damage
627.5
3407 DPS
*15.93 enhanced damage
---
54,278 DPS

Shapers:

30/2 = 15 extra average damage
587
3187 DPS
*17.46 enhanced damage
----
55,645 DPS

Shape skillers win

*note that this is also with 600 strength. Shape skills get even better for both damage and life as you move toward vita builds. The only time you should ever use max damage charms is 1) with a dagger class weapon, 2) with a very low damage other class weapon. Anything under ~ 300 max damage is better with maxers.

Also this is a low ed% etomb. If I did the math on a perfect etomb the difference between max charms and shapers would be even greater, with shapers absolutely dominating.

BTW I figured out how to use the maxroll calc and it is displaying etomb and botd GPA damage correctly. It is showing etomb is better. Maybe you forgot to check the ethereal box?

Where do you guys find your eth fanged knives for imbuing? I am assuming cows?

The closest I could find so far was an eth cindequas. I know you cant upgrade normal item quality, but I can up it in the cube after I imbue it if its worth.

I guess my question is can a cindequas roll all the same mods as a fanged knife or is it better to just wait till I find one?
