Will be going back to 4.5 on my 3570k... but I need some info on OCing GPUs... never done it before...
I will be running 7950 (OC Sapphire editions) in CF... any info would be appreciated... PM or post is fine
Download MSI Afterburner (newest beta edition), download CCC newest beta edition, download Unigine Valley 1.0 or newest edition. Then go into AB and unlock voltage. Once voltage is unlocked slowly raise the core clock, I usually do +10 MHz each time, and run a unigine valley test on Extreme HD. If it passes without crashing the OC is good. Repeat the process until you can't OC any higher. Then move on to the memory clocks and do the same. When you finally hit a wall with both, then you slowly raise the voltage by a few mV. I do about +5 mV per test when raising voltage.
Your cards will require a balance between memory clock and core clock while the voltage allows it to stable. Don't forget to monitor temps and save the profiles as you go in AB. When your cards start hitting 80C you have reached the max for the 79xx series. VRMs for benchmarking supposedly can go up to 110C or more.
There are also a few tricks you can do to increase the performance of the OC. Crap that AMD throws in but screws it up.
Sugarhell has some good info on OCN:
