Danila Klimovich is nuts. I thought he was another bust pick or a long shot but holy hell he's making some noise and getting attention
https://twitter.com/ChrisFaber39/status/1441839958323466243?s=09
already talks of him just going straight to the AHL instead of QMJHL
even imac is impressed
Iain MacIntyre: Vasily Podkolzin is getting lots of attention, but impossible to ignore how impressive 2021 draft pick Danila Klimovich has looked at Canucks camp.
lockwood should make the team, he impressed 3 days in a row. He's basically a faster version of Motte and wins a lot of board battles. Oh, and he also did this today to schenn... SCHENNNNN

“I don’t think he did himself any favours,” says Travis Green of Olli Juolevi’s bag skate performance and overall form at training camp.
Green specifically noted in the full quote that Juolevi was graded a bit differently bc he’d done it before.
Also while OEL faded late, Juolevi faded by the 2nd run through.
No comparison.
Sounds like juolevi lost the job. Green rarely calls his own players out to the media, he didn't even try to go in details for virtanen and kept it private.
Looks like it's gonna be Boner and Hunt
solid hit on schenn lol not the easiest guy to move
how does OEL look? hoping he can be a decent top 4 for you guys

Apparently oel and poolman got instant chemistry and looked very good together. Aside from OEL slugging the last set of 2 lines in greens infamous bag skate, he's as advertised. Gets puck to the net, makes great saucer passes for breakaways etc. Probably get a better look in these upcoming preseason games
Also Lolnucks ranked 5th in Pacific in Dom's/athletic prediction

Friedman:
- Vancouver offered a 3 year deal to Hughes that they felt was fair and weren't inclined to budge. The number was in the 5's but then after Dahlin signed then the team realized their number has to go up.
-Talked about a 6 year deal for Hughes that was in the 7's, but that also goes up because of Dahlin's first three years being valued at 6M per.
-Petey talks are above Barzal for 3 years, below Kaprizov on 5 years but he thinks they should push for the Rantanen contract (6 years, 9.25 AAV)
-Has the same Hamonic update as Dhaliwal. This throws a bit of a pause into the RFA negotiations because now the Canucks cap space and what they can do changes significantly. He thinks they would go get another defenceman but also thinks that longer term deals become more of a possibility.

at the margin it's quite simple. use cap space to sign longer deals, and if a D-man of Hamonic's caliber was what kept the team from fighting for the playoffs then it clearly wasn't meant to be.
which means Benning will certainly look to throw away assets at a middling D-man and hardball his RFAs until he physically can't

Probably has to resort to Demers or someone similar

Yikes.
If no Hamonic, hope that Poolman really has that "untapped potential" that I keep hearing about.

That Dahlin contract made me cringe.
Just becoming more difficult to get these two signed.

Garland putting on a show, Lolnucks dominating.. Looks like a powerplay all day everyday
I like how everyone on reddit is now singing a different tune about oel lol being the smoothest and best skater out there
almost as if they legit believed that oel is a replacement level dman cuz out of context analytics said so.
Lolnucks so good, they scored a goal during intermission so it's 32 - 0 instead of 31 - 0.
Man I know it's just a preseason stream, but damn the quality is so shit and commentary is terrible. Refs are doing their best to make this game somewhat competitive by helping the flames (weak calls, flames run over own goalie still looking for ways to penalize the Canucks), while the score keeper is doing his best to help the Canucks (flames score but they make it 4 - 0 for the Canucks lmao)

this is a good post with great context to poolman's game, so far in camp and today's pre-season game he has been very good defensively. Wouter's goal assisted by Garland started from Poolman's defensive play and creating the play too
