Hinduism has a lot less fire and brimstone than christianity on this issue, and in many cases is actually much clearer.

Marriage is considered an ashram of two, and the most noble path. The culture is less strict than you would think about the genders.

Promiscuity is considered as non-ideal and hedonistic. Sins.

A lot of ancient Indian texts give short snippets about bizarre sexual proclivities too, which is actually really interesting. It means that humans have always been a bit sexually wild, even back 3000 years. Homosexuality would probably just be included within that list of bizarre proclivities.

I think 1) is a bit goofy because people rarely change their preferences that late in life. I support the man to make that choice, however it is quite a rare case.

For choice 2) I completely support it. I would even go so far to say that couples that are married for one year should have much cheaper access to adoption. Adoption is REALLY expensive these days.

Thank you.

Am I perceiving correctly that you've connected with Eastern philosophy or spirituality recently'ish in your life?

I've studied buddhism since 2010, so I'm deeply familiar with a lot of the practical aspects. Between then and ~2021, I went to protestant church regularly.

About three years ago though, I started reading tomes of old Hindu scripture, Mahabharata and Yoga Vasistha in particular. I go to a temple in my city once a month, and I feel more in tune with it than I do with Christianity now.

That's really fascinating. It'd be cool to know more about that process for you (as fantasy, or genuine inquiry), because it seems like it has had an influential impact on you and is reflected in your posts. Not to say that I had a terribly accurate understanding of you, or any other poster on this forum, but enough to notice a difference.

Thank you.

Maybe I grew up a bit lol. The Hindu books have a way of reminding you of the darkest parts of yourself so that you can face and fix them directly.

I think most of it was going through bad times myself. It makes you more sensitive to others who could be in the same spot.

developing empathy for others typically distances yourself from american christianity

your worldview still leaves something to be desired but i can at least say you have learned alot in the past few years

That's cool, man, I hope it means you're in some better times now! It definitely gives perspective.

It's easily top 5 PaRD-as-anime arcs of all time.
