IQ tests are all inherently flawed. They rely on specific cultural cues and are only a measure of education within a specific culture group and not of actual intelligence. They are also inherently racist, bigoted, and misogynistic.

for the first part i guess ur sorta right, the verbal/vocabulary components seem to largely test the "quality" of the literature you've been exposed to, but this seems much less true for other non-vocab stuff like matrix reasoning

High IQ low EQ?

well hes probably trolling, or might be something to do with the fact that different races do score differently on iq tests. and sure you could blame it on the culture, but when you notice that half the chess champions and nobel prize winners are of one race, while another race struggles to make a single functioning state in the 2nd largest continent on the planet, you might just admit that there is a good possibility that race affects iq



noooo not to boast but im really good at reading people and am very emphatic ! as you can see by my posting in the poe section! my biggest flaws would be laziness, immaturity, anxiety and depression i dont really try hard no matter how important something is

The thing is, IQ is a legitimate indicator of intelligence, but it's also just that. It says nothing about your ability to learn, your memory, your people skills, your decisionmaking, your willpower, your ethics, your creativity, etc etc etc.

It's perfectly possible for a person with high IQ to be quite stupid outwardly, just because raw analytical intelligence is not the only factor.

People sometimes talk about IQ as if it's the universal indicator of how smart they are (e.g. "I am obviously right because my IQ is 170"); the mistake is in how those people interpret the number. The number itself is not flawed.

I took my iq test while stoned .. Teacher said my IQ was as high as their's ..I said i doubt if your are as high as i am.. Low IQ teachers made me give up on education and I went to work like a fool ..

IQ predicts success if you are also industrious.

IQ is heavily biased against poorer areas (food insecurity, financial insecurity, stress, etc. drastically lower IQ) and areas without education (Try to sit down for an hour to take a test if you've never taken a test before).

Additionally you can influence IQ early in life with education, and even though the early advantage tends to go away in IQ scores by the time they are adults the bump in IQ early on is a huge advantage while you are attaining education and career prospects.



Overall, IQ is probably something that exists but we're far from perfect at measuring it or accounting for confounding variables. That's pretty much true of all of Psychology though.
