Thanks

Big transactions, or transactions with new accounts generally use mediators.

Especially when the person with the new account refuses to trade first.

Welcome!

Usually used on big trades. As you are new here, I encourage you to read this guideline: https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=10

Normally the "newer" user will give first on trades, so when in doubt, always ask the person you are trading with for a mediator. Probably they will give first if don't want to wait for it.

Hey, welcome! :)

Usually there's a lot of factors into play on this one:
Join dates
forum posts
forum gold

Many people trade with the "2/3" rule, which basically means that whoever of the 2 people trading has the highest 2 of the 3 stats mentioned above, will be the most trusted.

You will also quickly notice that new users are very untrusted, and if you feel like wanting to use a mediator until you get to know the forums, is totally cool.
But all in all, you will usually find people to be trustworthy on her (speaking from own experience ofc)

Hope that sums it up for you :)

The only 100% safe way to trade is to use a mediator.

Hi Milldog,

Happy weekend and welcome you to d2jsp!

We highly recommend users to use a mediator service regardless of big and small trades as non-official "rules" like the 2/3 rule do not protect you from scams.

The minimal amount of fg transaction required to request a mediator is 100 and the average response time for Diablo 2 Ressurected mediations is usually immediate to 3 minutes,
as for the rest it depends on type of trades you're conducting as some trade processes such as Battle.net and Steam trades have a more complicated process, you may learn about more about mediation here:

https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=11

Also make sure you go through the forum rules and trading rules again carefully if you haven't:

Forum rules - https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=9
Trading rules - https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=6

Don't be shy to reach out and PM me anytime or any staff members of the Trade Assistant or Trade Moderator group if you have any questions about mediation and trading.

Happy trading!

More like 99%. It’s very rare but it has happened before - meditator scams. I’ve experienced this once many years ago.
