I'd do 8 years with Brock. His next 8 years will likely be his best, then he hits 30.

Plus whatever AAV he gets now will look like a bargain in 4 year's time when he's in the middle of his prime.

If we do a 4-year deal he might still be an RFA but he could be coming off a 45 goal season, which means market value.

I think you need 7 seasons. So you could reach ufa at 25 possibly.

a 4 year deal would put him up to 7 seasons played. I think that is why they would be looking for a 4 year deal.

He has 3 seasons under his belt right now.

I could be wrong though.

yeah the rule for UFA is either 7 season or hitting 27 years of age, whichever comes first.

but if his contract is up right now it means his 9 game season counted as a year off his ELC. but I don't understand why because technically 18 and 19-years old have to play at least 10 games for it to count as a season.

idk I'm confused

Canucks prospect camp announced.

Quite a small list.

No invitees this year.

Who do you guys have an eye on besides the obvious choices?

Personally I am wondering what is going on with Petrus Palmu.

Was always excited about his potential but it seems the Canucks and Utica don't have much interest in him.

I would like to see him get a chance at some point. When the Canucks drafted him I saw him as a real sleeper pick.

Canucks dont need invitees cos they already have few too many extra bodies

sucks Juolevi still isn't fully healthy. He has been skating since summer, but the Canucks don't expect him to be 100% yet and would rather have him take it easy and make sure he's 100% before he puts in the work.
aka. don't expect him to make the roster, and allow him to play another year in AHL and hope for the best to play full season.

Real shame to have such serious injuries so young.

Not rush him is the best move though. Defenders often take a little longer.

Keller has now bumped boesers contract up in my eyes. He’s making 7.15 and if boeser was to get the same Keller would make an extra 600k/yr because of tax differences. Boeser is better and did not have a sophomore slump. I see boeser coming in at 8-8.5m min unless he takes a shorter deal.

He was still their leading scorer.

Arizona had 11 scorers with 10+ yet not one over 20.

They play a boring system and roll lines a lot more than most teams.

He led the team in scoring both years so I think they had to pay him that kind of money to keep him even though the point totals do not look all that great. Watching him play you can tell he is a high end player.

Hopefully this will cause a domino effect and break all the stalemates.

Goldobin resigned for 1 year.

900k is not a bad price.

This is his last chance.

He needs to take hold of a top 6 position to stay in the NHL.

He has a high level of skill but lacks intensity and play away from the puck.

If he can show a little more grit/hustle and find chemistry within the top 6 we will have a bargain.

If not all good, not much risk taken.
