Dont try reasoning with Overpriced, he’s by far the dumbest person on this forum, just a random square head unable to grasp any perspective thinking. Arguing with someone as linear and flat as him will only go in a straight line (in the wrong direction)

I personally think using Eschuta's is a really bad comparison. Cresent Moon and Hoto are generally preferable to Eschuta's for lightning, while Phoenix and hoto are preferrable for fire. The extra damage being additive on Eschuta's honestly makes a minimal damage difference and there are better options. I would personally argue that Obsession beats Eschutas/Spirit by having very slightly less damage but significantly more survivability. I am not sure, however, if it meets the standard of Hoto and Spirit, though, for overall bang for the buck.

Edit: considering the fact you could get a 3/3 staff base, I would actually think the damage would be slightly *higher* on Obsession than Eschuta's combo. I still am unsure if it beats the higher end, though.

I will say this, although it's not bis you probably will see a sorc or two run around with a staff past early leveling who isn't an enchanter. That's kinda neat

Dunno why ppl keep saying something like eschuta+spirit do more dmg

It gives +5skills and +25%dmg (thats the equivalent to +2 to light mastery)

Obsession gives +7skills (+3 mastery/+3 to the skill you use) so the dmg output is higher
So it wins offensively
But it wins much harder defensively, higher fhr, higher total res, higher mana/regen, 42%dr
Also more mf/gf% and looks way more cool
Less stats req, no block is better than 0%fbr

It wins at every single aspect we can look at

/edit : and even if it did not win (which is not the case)
Why would you be butthurt for having other options to build?
Crybabies dont want to change anything to the way they played for 20years. They also dont want others to play differently or to, when I’m looking at other new RWs, have cheaper alternatives to use at start of ladder.
Why am I even still here debating at the kindergarten lol

It has 10% more FCR. Thus being able to use 1x more soj or bk. So the true skill delta is only 1

Eschutas has 25% damage and -5% enemy resist on it. The 25% damage alone more than makes up for the 1 skill loss.

-5% resist, against an enemy with 50% resist, increases your total damage output by 10%. As can be shown here:
You do 10k damage. They have 50% resist. You do 5000 damage
You do 10k damage. They have 45% resist. You do 5500 damage

5500 is 10% more than 5000%

Eschutas + spirit is better.
