Speed. Teleporting is faster than leaping and you can tele through walls.

hotspurs
duriels shell
laying of hands gloves for the fire res early game
edit: obedience for merc wep

underrated pvp items

A leap barb is awesome. Along with an equipped merc, there's not much that can hinder you. And, they are awesome when they are in a team and a room is packed with unique monster packs.

If you cant understand the difference between the weakest, squishiest class in the game built from the ground up with teleport in mind for survivability vs something like a paladin fully geared and armored with shield with max block max dex HP resistances etc etc than theres no point in discussing it.
