12th gens are super buggy ionno

and they say i9 10th gen better than the i9 11th gen cuz the 11th was produced poorly

source on buggy 12th gen(after all recent updates) remember you need windows 11 and with open shell 4.4.169 you get your old windows start

would probably be better for you cuz you sound more knowledgeable haha
the current gpu listed will be an insane upgrade for me...from a 4core 6th gen to a 10 core 10th gen

but you do remind me..i want to be sure i the new pc can upgrade to windows 11
i believe having "secure boot" and "TPM 2.0" is accessed via the motherboard?

dont think 6th gen is supported for windows 11 but you still can go on it and mess around to see if you like in mean time while you getting new pc to see if you like it

do you know if this mobo can?
MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel Z690 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard

its the one im currently lookin at that works with the i9-10900k

i looked at a i7-12th gen with the z690 chipset and it does look really nice haha but then i red all the negative feedback on the 12th gens
just want something a nice upgrade that will work very well...not trying to min/max everything 100% or overclock

your current cpu isnt supported 6700
z690 is lga 1700 for 12th gen and next gen

think its any cpu with tpm 2.0 which is like 8th gen intel and maybe 2k amd cant remember off hand

ooo so tpm 2.0 is a cpu thing...i thought was in the bios from the motherboard...but i guess the motherboard just like the framework for the parts that carry the information

this good to know tyyy

It took me a while to switch from Win7 to Win10. I ignored Win8 entirely.

If history repeats itself, Win11 is going to be a shit show, relative to the success/popularity of Win7 or Win10.

I don't see myself using Win11 anytime soon. That's why I rather not suggest Win11 or Intel 12th Gen. But you certainly can go back and redo your parts list for Win11 with Intel 12th Gen.

im not too excited about win 11 either tbh...but def would like to make sure the build has the option to upgrade if for w/e reason it is worth doing

and apparently it just needs a decent cpu and the cpu yall recommended will work great :]

im leaning towards this:

soo many people are saying 12th gen is for those who enjoy working out the early adoption bugs for the better performance lol

i just want something that will work very well on setup.
kinda sucks that gpus are insanely overpriced atm..3060 compared to 1080 ti is like no difference

if you are gaming at 1440p and above or plan to get whatever cpu that suits ya
if you need more cores for multi tasking then look into amd, we will see 3d cache version later this yr which should boost them back past intel's currrent gen all around
if you want something that works out of the box pretty much with little work and perform great then look at intel but amd is almost there where you dont have to worry about anything
12th gen does need win 11 for its cpu scheduler for e and p cores to work right

intels 10th and 11th gen < amd 5k
intels 12th gen > amd 5k for most part
this link includes amd fix for windows 11
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-12900k-alder-lake-12th-gen/23.html

just remember if win 11 is needed for intels 12th gen you better believe their issues would be fixed fast considering how much influence intel has on microsoft
