jaysus, 165 million .... and they didnt manage to produce a few scenes where couple of those atreides flying refigerators stay in orbit and get blown up there

wondering where they spent money on....

true the invasion should've been a bit longer and displayed forces a bit more

but in the end everything was a setup most of the planets defenses were sabotaged

and the atreides had no way of knowing the emperor would betray them and attack this soon after the takeover

it was a night ambush and a massacre

rewatch the movie there was plenty of action i prefered this kind of pacing and action then the typical marvel where its a huge setup little bits here and there and then a big bang at the end for 5-10 minutes straight filled with cgi

Absolute masterpiece of a film. The visuals, the score.... stunning all around. I did not want it to end. Epic. 9/10 almost a perfect film. I have been following this film for so long, wanting and waiting and now I have to do it all over again for part 2.

Note: I have never seen the original movie, series, or read the books. So my opinions are only based off this current film.

Agreed 100% . Just watched and was blown away. Going into it knowing nothing and never seeing the originals it was amazing. I was a little confused at the beginning but I got sucked in pretty quickly.

This is easily the best sand movie since Mad Max Fury Road

Coincidently, this was the first movie that blew me away since MMFR

I was lucky to have a few guys at the firehouse explain some of the confusion in the beginning for me. I had a decent grasp but they were able to clear it up

I really liked the movie. They cut out a lot of stuff from the book but it was necessary without bogging down the story. Still made a long ass movie despite all that. Solid cast all the way around especially Rebecca Ferguson she nailed it as Jessica.

I have to agree with this. I've seen the original and the series and read the books. But I still enjoyed the hell out of this. I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did and I really hope part 2 comes out soon. Also looking forward to the prequel series they're doing about the Bene Gesserit

Gotta wait 4-5 years to mimic the book properly
