That's interesting. A mutiny like that certainly would strengthen the sentiment that a state could cause more harm than good. It's an emotional argument rather than a rational one, but that's how politics often go.

Imagine Trump was still president and was feuding with the governors of Maryland and Virginia (both Democrats) - a not entirely unreasonable notion. Then imagine the governors instructing their state police to apprehend or harass the president as he travelled through their state. Would the other 48 states not be justifiably upset that another state was interfering with their concerns in government?
