The first bioshock was a critique on libertarianism and Atlas Shrugged. The third was a biting commentary on nationalism. I think they explored these ideas pushed to their very extremes and gone wrong pretty well. Infinite becomes quite a psychological experience. I didn't play 2.
yeah I actually like how they push things sometimes to see them in their “purist” form. goes to show that compromise is necessary irl to maintain society and order. i would never want to live in a purely libertarian or commie state.
i just like that when it was my childhood it was more of “i have to beat this group to win the game” rather than making it all pseudo-political commentary
growing up can suck

This one is worth looking into unless illogical / forced continuation of the story line doesn't matter to you. But even if that's the case, this is a story driven game so the story should be good, feel logical etc.
For many people that liked the first game this new direction hurts immersion and basically feels like a political agenda shoved into their face.
i mean that seems to be a fair assessment; in the end its up to the users to critique the game based on their experiences. if we were actually in some sort of zombie apocalypse im fairly sure some sort of tyrannical force would take charge anyway
