And that will work for a time, but how many weeks of shut down before people start getting angry?

Again, for now. I'm sure our lot would take it jolly at first. Trouble is no one knows how long this shite could last.

How many new cases before things reopen? 100? 50? 0? Does that mean if there's a resurgence then everything gets locked down again? After its "gone" do we need to isolate everyone that comes into the country for 2 weeks whilst it's still going on elsewhere?

Billion questions need answering and governments need to remember that we are not Chinese. People will turn when jobs are lost and homes are put in the firing line.

I think people will accept the situation, but I agree that there's a risk of another outbreak later on, and there's no way the government will be able to convince people of the necessity of isolation again.

I wouldn't have taken the steps our government is taking, but I hope it works out.

This is the exact reason our government is delaying shutting everything down. There's no fucking way you get everyone to stay at home for months of end.
Boris gets a lot of stick for good reason but his herd immunity approach rather than complete lockdown makes sense on many different levels.

Best is the Korean approach of massive testing and locking out those that test positive. But yes, I rather the UK's approach than shutting down the economy... the consequences will be terrible in the long run.

This is probably one of the very few times I am impressed by the actions of the government, there has been 104 cases registered in my country and the government are already taking precautions as they announced all schools and colleges to be shut till 31st March and with that the gyms and people from private companies are advised to let their employees work from home if possible.
considering the population of 1.4Billion, 104 cases are very less.

India and Taiwan and probably Japan too have all done a wonderful job so far, best examples that come to mind. SK got screwed by that idiot cult at first ramping up the spread but since then they’ve done a great job.

I take my words back, reports are coming in that the reason for low cases of coronavirus in india is so low because the government is not conducting the medical checkup and if they’re testing then they’re not doing it properly.

Videos came in of the people from the quarantine zone, the places where they are being kept is like a place which has been abandoned for 10+ years lol.

I dont think anything will re-open any time soon, unless some countries are going full retard. If the "drastic measures" going to work, they are going to stick with it. And if think even more drastic measures will soon happen in a lot of countries like a shutdown/lockdown, because every country has too many retards who don't see the bigger picture. Since a vaccine will last until next year, prepare for ~ 9 months more of this. I mean numbers are to judge right now. Its not like every person can test themselves, which makes it way more dangerous. Reported numbers (apart from people who died) could be totally wrong. E.g. the USA: they are barely doing any testing, tho how they are suppose to judge the numbers ^_^

The strategy everywhere seems to be stretching the virus over time. If you reopen everything, its not going to help. And there are no country in the world who can handle the stress on the medical system.
