okay those rules are actually very nice and godly, except no wsg is fucked, I would allow wsg and increase non skill frw by 15% the rest is nice

Ferdia's rules have been tried and tested for nearly a decade. I dont agree with some, and not everyone will. A perfect balance is not possible in any level bracket. Theres always something that's better than the other or something that someone wont like added or taken out.

I feel like this is just turning into an old thread back from 2009 where everyone just cried about everything that didnt work for them. To get this rolling, let's use them as a base line and get some duels going so we can evaluate and adjust reasonably to 2020.

Right off the bat banning skillers takes me out entirely lol.
In all seriousness though when was the last time any of you did some serious MLD? It's been ages for me but I had alot of fun back then.

9. WSG (Weapon Switch Glitch) is strictly banned. You may switch weapon sets as appropriately needed for uses other than abusing WSG.

I think most of these rules are hand-me-downs from euro. Im not saying that all of the rules were perfect, but heres my take on them.

Wsg ban - i think the rule was typically made with bowazons in mind. Bowas are really strong in the meta. Imo no wsg hurts a lot of classes vs mind blast though. Id like to play a bunch of tvts with and without wsg to see whats best. Gut feeling is that you should be able to wsg since attacks are deadlier, but im no mld expert.

Duels are in norm because if they were in nm, you would need ridiculously high res stacks. Cold sorcs and fohers can hit hard, especially in tvt.

5. is an odd rule. I have no comment.

6. Chargers can 1 hit ko, but then again, so can a lot of things.

7. Makes less sense than 6. No idea where that stemmed from. A v/t isnt a pure charger, so why the restrictions?

8. Telekinesis ban. Sorcs (especially es fb) are stupid strong and telekinesis chaining makes them stronger. I agree with this ban

much like 18 outright bans on skills and setups are an attempt to even the playing field against overpowered builds. chargers and bowas especially are so good, just like 18, that they'd be the only chars entered into tourneys.

please note that even with these restrictions bowas and chargers still won almost all of the MLD tourneys. so the data shows even with rule changes they're still king, imagine them with even more power.

5 is not a euro rule. In fact the euro rule only states clay golem is banned, nothing about the rest.
6 is not a euro rule
7 because without teleport a v/t can easily charge to keep distance and wear down the opponent with FoH. Even with a 3k foh cap on damage that wont take too long. Makes for a shitty pointless duel that cant be lost although on euro its only a rule vs barbs, shapers and javas (frw based chars with no range).
8 not a euro rule.

#5 seems silly. I dont mind banning summoners for the sake of not waiting for a full recast between rounds, but fire golem vs a esfb?
#6 Pointless. Why make a charger when you can make a libby (or any other pala hybrid)? With an oath and zaka they can almost 1 hit anyways but dont have the same glaring weaknesses that a charger has.
#8 unnecessary. Sorcs are strong, yes, but tk while good on a good sorc, isnt the difference between the winning and losing with the char.

Ignore textbooks rules post on page 2 and go by the very first post rules on page 1. Any questions should be in regards to what's being used..
Page 2 was just an example of previous rules used, Ferdias rules have been tested and tried for years. Some may not agree with all of them but they provide somewhat of a balance which is necy to impossible
