You can throw $30k per person away into a furnace or you can do what China is doing and let an 80 year old die 6 years early.

That is not remotely accurate to what China did

China successfully locked down their population with measures that were not going to happen here and mandated CT scans on man/women/children in hot spots , forcefully isolating those who scanned potentially positive for 14 days. As a result they never had community spread to the extent we did.

It's largely unknown but they committed some pretty horrific violations of civil liberties. They had police taking temperature at every apartment entrance/exit. They would kidnap you if you had a fever and put you into an isolation camp.
