The size of the numbers doesn’t make or break the game either way. It’s about the combat system. It’s ok to cry about a game but at least cry about shit that actually matters like PvP.

If only we can go back to those numbers. Wouldn't it be so much easier to balance smaller numbers?

You have to do the same thing in d3...

Balance cooldown reduction / IAS / etc etc

d2 was much better imo for this though. the way stats and skill points were acquired based on your chars lvl and not thousands of paragon, how a melee char interacted differently with +1 to all skills vs. say a caster, the math behind weapon damage scaling up, attack rating vs. defense rating, fhr speeds and blocking, the depth of ias from ss druids to trap laying, the list goes on. d3 had some of this to a certain extent but for its age, d2 was miles ahead in that regard. i never liked the skills/runes/passives form.

after watching the interviews from blizzcon, id be lying if i said i wasnt worried.

D2s system although flawed, was good, but just because it’s different doesn’t mean it’s bad. We can’t even comment on how it works related to PvP because it sucked so bad in d3. That being said, d3 is actually a great dungeon crawling game and it offers infinitely more variety than doing Baal runs over and over and over and over. We can all agree that there were a lot of shitty things about D2 game mechanics. Aura stacking, fhr locking, max res stacking sorb and being invincible. The only balanced PvP was tpk where there is literally only one option for team composition- another huge flaw. The game is great because it’s so nostalgic and there are a lot of amazing systems in game, but for today’s standards it’s pretty shit. Especially for balanced PvP.
