binnington was also the single biggest reason the blues made the playoffs. regardless of how good petey was, he couldnt vault his team to the postseason.

its a toss up, but the lack of volume should be cancelled out by being the biggest reason the blues made the playoffs and have a cup

yeah but Blues were always a good team when they had goaltending though, as soon as Allen proved hes not #1 goalie in NHL and got replaced by Binnington playing like a true #1G blues were great again.
Canucks weren't gonna make the playoffs even if petey scored 120 pts lol, there's wayyyy too much holes in the team to be competitive atm

i get your argument but why should bishop and lehner be above vasi for playing behind the two best defensive systems in the league? look at their backups, pure studs as well. vasi stands out amongst goalies and he shouldve ran away with it.

i remember halak and elliot both having vezina like numbers, but common sense was enough to realize it was less them and more system

because Bishop was an absolute wall without the firepower of tampa's forwards, instead he deals with 2 bitches crying about the owner instead.
Backups shouldn't relate anything to the vezina finalist performances.. look at Domingue, he had 21 fucking wins as a back up. His numbers weren't dog shit either.
If the defense system was more of a reason for bishop's success then Khudobin's stats would also mirror close to his, instead it mirror's vasilevskiy's more without the wins.
i dont think lehner is above vasil tho, he's clearly the product of trotz system.

khudobins stats are insane for a backup, just like greiss and lehner

vasi faced way more high danger scoring chances and scoring chances off fast breaks than bishop or lehner, because his teams system was more wide open than the defensive systems of dallas and nyi

look, i dont care who wins the vezina. im just relaying why vasi won a landside and why it makes sense. he did it all. dallas and nyi defensive systems played more into bishops and lehners numbers than tampas forwards did for vasi

elliot had a historic year a few years ago when he was 1a with halak. he didnt win the vezina despite his numbers being better because he wasnt as good as the others. he was largely the product of a system.

methinks it's Vasi's performance in the playoffs that's tinging opinions.

well that's what I meant, his bad playoff outing making people retroactively believe he wasn't as good in the regular season

Lehner, greiss and bulin shouldn't be above vasey. Bishop however should be because he successfully took full advantage of the defensive system and was consistently a brick wall for the stars.
if bishop had similar numbers to those 3, including vasey's then yeah i'd fully agree with the landslide vote. However that isn't the case.
What you're saying is any goalie that put up remarkable numbers under a defensive system should never win the vezina cuz they're product of the system, and goalies in a offensive minded team that wins liek 80% of their season should always win it because they are making more high danger scoring chance saves??? If vasey put up bishop's number while raking in the wins, then hell yeah i'd also agree he did it all and deserves to win it by a landslide.
