Going away for work and need to change my oil. Should I change it before leaving for work for two weeks, or change it when I get back. Won't be using my car for that two weeks, so basically would be fresh oil sitting in the engine if I change it.

if you are not running it, it will be fine to sit with dirty oil in it. If you are driving it to your destination, I would just change it now.

Yeah I'm not driving it for work. So it will be sitting there for two weeks doing nothing. I thought maybe putting in the oil now and taking out the dirty oil would be good for the seals.

The oil is just gonna sit in the oil pan and not move around

u dont need to change oil until mileage is reached.

time is not a factor unless 5+ years.

Aren't u supposed to change oil and filter every 20k with synthetic, and every 5k with conventional?

No oil change every 3000 with conventional and I'd only run it 5k to 10k Max synthetic..
That's miles btw
Unless were talking 15/40 in a truck. That shit lasts forever. Most ppl change that every 15k to 20k miles

Oil service tech for 2 years so I know what I'm talking about.
