Cheap air cooler or $100 aio, depends on case and CPU ofc

Full custom loop all the way. Even cheap loops are usually way better and more silent than an AIO.

Depends. If you're an enthusiast, custom loop. If not air or an off the shelf all in one unit like h60 will do fine.

I never understood the argument of air is louder. I mean if you don't have jet engine fans it's not noticeable. If I'm on the computer I have headphones on. If you're watching a movie laying back In bed or something your computer should not be struggling to the point of having go ramp up fan speed.

I mean, the same people who complain about sounds from fans probably use blue switches and have RGB all over their shit making the room look like a laser show for a 10 year old.

If Noctua would just use not shit color fans (quite literally), I feel like their sales would go up several times over. That's the only thing that's ever held me back from buying their products, that ugly ass brown and tan color scheme.

But they dont sell the heatsinks with those coolers by default, I would have to buy the fan sep and they charge way too much.

some air coolers are sexy and some watercoolers are also
if you are overclocking all can work just depends on how far but if you are going as far as the silicone can go you are now being extreme
d14/15 along with few other air and aio coolers can practically handle many chips practically to their max
if you are extreme you should look at all exotic cooling for your need

me personally I get something that does the job for my needs quickly and easily removed and has enough cooling to handle average overclocks for that chip plus it looks sexy to me, Id rather have less down time hence why I have100i, gold digger case, I can wheel it over, and change whatever part out in minutes

One thing to consider is long term cost.

On an air cooler the only thing that fails is the fan, which you can get a good replacement one for $15 and you can move it from build to build.

If the pump gives out on your AIO you're out another $80-150 depending on the size. every 5-8 years.
