Speaker ends up being one of the better in the series but there are parts of Children if the Mind and Xenocide that got excessive. Groundwork has to be laid though. Still an amazing series. Was on vacation and literally finished both Enders Game and Speaker of the Dead and had to drive a half hour to find a Barnes and Noble to get the rest of the series.

Ive attempted Speaker a few times but maybe I'll have to try again. Bean has to be my favorite hands down.

Do you think you'd be able to do well at such an event?

I only actually play magic on Friday lol, so I'm prone to mistakes. I'm only really good at drafting because I do so many draft sims and listen to podcasts like Limited Resources and Lord's of Limited.

Ehh, at like a gp? i highly doubt i could day 2. Usually you've played like 7 or 8 rounds and after a few wins people start to actually be good.


Small events that you would go to an LGS for, i've played in a few and have made the top 8 a few times (but these are like 20-50~ person events)

it really would depend on what decks are good ta the time. I just don't enjoy playing aggressive decks, and if there weren't a control deck that was one of the top decks then I'd be playing something T2 or something i don't like.

idk if you were around during khans/dragons block, but i did pretty well with esper dragons. Got 2nd place in one pptq and 3rd/4th in another out of playing only 2

I'm not a great competitive player, but i'm much better than most casual players
