Isn't Ready Player One a good movie? I've read the book but have yet to watch the movie.

It's your usual young adult movie.

Show me some lists of your guys' favorite sci-fi books. It's my favorite genre so I'm willing to read some that I've never read before. I'm currently reading Hyperion because it's been a while.

With as many resources and deep talent pool as they had for those films, it would have been a GoT-sized gaffe had they not executed well.

Lmao

Hopefully the series coming out on Amazon isn't garbage

I was into the Tripod Trilogy by John Christopher (White Mountains, City of Gold and Lead, Pool of Fire) when I was a kid. Also liked The Giver, but you've probably read that one.

Does Amazon have any good series? Homeland maybe? (never watched it, idk if it's even Amazon). So I'm pessimistic.

Honestly no idea. Never checked out Prime Video.

Apparently story will precede Fellowship of the Ring. Keeping my expectations tempered.

Man in the High Castle is a great dystopian series that gets very sci-fi in the more recent season. I'm a WWII history GEEK so it appealed to me before even watching.

As a book to movie, no it was ass. As a stand alone movie it's great in a lot of aspects. Visuals are outstanding, story is good. I didnt like the main guy though.

When I first watched it I hated it because it ruined all the good shit about the book but I watched in again recently and I enjoyed it much more not thinking about the book

It's ok. Watched it the other day, wouldn't pay to watch it or buy the movie. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
