I think its more selection then price that concerns me.
but realistically you need to shop around.

On a side note i ordered all this junk from your country..,.

l & p
whittakers chocolate - unique flavors (l&p / peanut butter / berry and biscut / macadamia block)
jaffas
cookie time
maggie brand onion soup
candy flavored feijoas
squiggles
pineaple lumps
manuka honey
cheese
cherry ripe
peppermint crisp
burger rings
tim tams
reduced cream / onion soup maggi - for making dip

Well because I don't have much PC knowledge I'm probably just going to order exactly what you have in the SS above minus the tower and the graphics card. I will check competitor's sites for better prices on parts and just spend at least my gift card at pbtech if better deals are to be found elsewhere.

I assume you selected the SSD/HDD and other parts based on their performance primarily?

/e god damn you went all out on the NZ stuff.

tbh really looking forward to this L & P drink tbh. that and the honey, though I didn't go high end on the honey shits stupid expensive for premium stuff.

I've just checked every item on pricespy and the only part that can be found cheaper in New Zealand is the HDD for $6.44 less.

Man all of the items minus the tower and graphics card cost only $613.10 rofl. Would it be worth considering adding another 8gb ram or is that excessive?

Also if I don't use a graphics card will that effect overall PC performance or will it only be useful if I wanted to play high end pc games (which I don't)?

Also... will I need to order a power cord with these parts?

they dont need to be the exact same parts just similar stat wise and reputable brands
8gb ram is the norm, 16 is nice for long term.if you shop around could probably save enough to get 16gb.
gpu will take load off the cpu and allow you to play real games. I wouldn't say high end but most mid range gamers for sure.
no the psu will come with a power cord.

If the only game I might play is minecraft (probably briefly for the lols), from what you have said my PC would not get any performance benefits (when running poker software/chrome) from having a graphics card right?

minecraft will definitely see a huge boost from it.
browser will see none and for poker games it won't matter.

Alright i'm going with 16gb ram and no graphics card.

Would this kingston RAM be fine? https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMKHX3603956/Kingston-HyperX-Fury-16GB-2-x-8GB-DDR4-2666MHz-CL1

It is the cheapest. Otherwise they have the corsair 2x8gb for slightly more https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMCOR67517/Corsair-Vengeance-Memory-16GB--2-X-8GB--DDR4---266

I just need to figure out which 16gb ram and which tower to buy now then i'm good to go.

How do I know which bay size and number of USB ports etc I need for the tower? it's definitely the mid size tower right? Would this puppy work? https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/CHASGT0400/Segotep-Halo-ATX-Mid-Tower-Case-with-3-x-Front-12C

I see in reviews of the tower they're saying it only has space for a 'modular power supply'

both kits work, case will work.
If your not playing games you won't need 16gb. unless you want like 100 browser tabs open at once.
bay is for rom drives , cd/dvd/blueray. You don't need either but space for one is fine if you want a drive later.
I doubt you'll need more then 2 front USB ports, will always have plenty in back.

Well for a program called piosolver I intend to use, it requires very high performance and 16gb is preferrable. Also budget isn't really a concern. I was just looking for a pc that could do what I want initially but because the prebuilts are so shit as you pointed out, I have decided to build this one

Quote
RAM: RAM speed doesn't matter much as long as it's relatively modern. The more RAM you have the bigger trees you can build. 8GB is enough to use postflop solver comfortably with occasional 2-3 bet sizes at some points. 16GB is enough to solve even very big trees with multiple bet sizes at many points. Some users want even bigger trees though. To use the preflop solver comfortably you need at least 64GB of RAM. We got reports that RAM speed is important for Ryzen/ThreadRipper CPUs though. It's the best idea to consult hardware experts/hardware forums when assembling your system.
