Where can I see what the Crit rates are for weapons on LS? I’ve heard axes have highest Crit rate or are all the same?

Base crit rates are in this order, although I don’t know where you’ll be able to find official numbers.

Attack charms > axes > sword/staff > club/dagger

Melee crit rate is not just determined by weapon type though... it is also modified strongly by the crit chance property and by stats (both strength and dex, seemingly equally if both are equal, but with diminishing returns for each stat). It is currently only my hypothesis (and not a fact) that crit chance modifies base crit and stats add crit based on weapon base crit + crit chance... but I haven’t been obsessed enough to run the number of tests needed to determine this. It is something that I hope to rest at some point though.

With average MQ type stats for whistle climb and no crit chance on gear, the rough %s seem to be something like this to me:

Axe ~ 12 - 15%
Staff/sword ~ 5 - 8%
Dagger/club ~ 2 - 3%

And cast charms are something like ~50%

the weapons have different crit chances for sure. axes > swords, staves > dagger, club
imo this was added to compensate the stat ratios. dagger and clubs do more base dmg, so they crit less.

when i last tested this it was like 3% dagger critting and about 12% axe critting. You can just test it yourself and keep on counting your crits on 100 hits.
with the critical strike mod, you can increase the crit chance quite a bit. when i had between 10 and 15crit on gear, i did about 20% dagger crits and about 35% axe crits. I cant tell exact numbers though.. only paul knows them.

everybody would have to test different crit on gear with different weapons, so we could collect the info and estimate chances to crit and the effect of the crit mod

Is your critrate not directly related to your ability to reach the weapons str/dex ratio vs enemy dex?

And casting your critrate is dependant on your int vs enemy int?

shouldnt have to do with that. you can easily test axes with 120str 120dex against 200str 40dex or 200dex 40str and will perform the same

Note that critstrike mod with clubs seems to be broken as they are not critting much more

Bob888 tested that

Clubs very rarely crit. Certain chars tend to crit more than others. Ninjas crit much more often than monks with daggers. It's not about having a tiny bit more of dex.

Or Paul could just answer that and save us the time.. :P

The stat to dmg ratio on everything is already known, why not the base critical strike chance?

Also, why is critical strike the only damage related stat, which says + critical strike, not + % critical strike?

What does that mean? So much room for speculations..

Only tested this out vs another person in the Arena.

Found that increasing the lower ratio stat increased the chance of critical strike, this of course reduced the damage output.

How it was tested, full dex Samurai comparing Longsword vs Dagger, outcome, Longsword had 3 times more crit strikes.
This was the best place to test since you could easily heal yourself here as well.

End Note: This may no longer be the case since new update, there seems to be a lot of different views and we don't have a definitive answer for you.

Thank you everybody for their input!! Crazy how nobody truly knows exact rates after so many years of LS’s existence. Don’t understand why Paul doesn’t release the actual rates and bring some clarity for us all lol. Would avoid the need to experiment and run tests, as well as give us all a better understanding on this topic
