Damage modifier has nothing to do with actual crit chance ?

As for 2nd part only other red that will show is power shot and mind numb ?

Note question marks

Yeah true

Whats % chance of those others base % i wonder?

Feel like this could still be calculated based on statistics and a large enough sample size

My guess is armor pierce has a base of 0 and the others may as well. If I were to guess you would start with only a % crit and if you have no mind numb, powershot or AP, you would consider that the base chance to crit. At least thats how I would do it because otherwise you have too many unknown variables.

shouldnt have to do with that. you can easily test axes with 120str 120dex against 200str 40dex or 200dex 40str and will perform the same

Actually... I don’t believe it has to do with the char stat ratios matching the weapon ratios as suggested... but I believe that axes are a special case where str and dex share the diminishing return for the stat-based crit factor.

Only tested this out vs another person in the Arena.

Found that increasing the lower ratio stat increased the chance of critical strike, this of course reduced the damage output.

How it was tested, full dex Samurai comparing Longsword vs Dagger, outcome, Longsword had 3 times more crit strikes.
This was the best place to test since you could easily heal yourself here as well.

End Note: This may no longer be the case since new update, there seems to be a lot of different views and we don't have a definitive answer for you.

This is strange for me to say but... I think you’re onto something with this crazy statement lol... I have also noticed with longswords that adding dex adds an inordinate amount of crit chance compared to str... I haven’t had time to calculate the diminishing returns on this or even find out if it’s limited to just longswords or if it works this way for swords/polearms/staves too as one would expect...

It would be interesting to test some strength-based chars with daggers and see what the crit chance is like compared to reversed ratio with higher dex... Anyone wanna give it a whirl?

Pity the Arena wasn't up and running (well haven't even bothered looking), you could have run low tier items against other person, even if you hit a 0, it would still indicate a Crit Strike by appearing Red.

Not sure, but, maybe this can be tested on Sneaky since it has very high defense.

Thank you everybody for their input!! Crazy how nobody truly knows exact rates after so many years of LS’s existence. Don’t understand why Paul doesn’t release the actual rates and bring some clarity for us all lol. Would avoid the need to experiment and run tests, as well as give us all a better understanding on this topic

very interesting topic ty everyone for your input

I noticed that sometimes the numbers are red and sometimes white and sometimes the red numbers are lower than the white numbers. Then I started asking myself. What if crits are actually white and the red numbers we see sometimes are non crits. What happens is that when you crit you do about half damage most of the time. It seems like this is worth testing boyz. Lmk what ya think.
